Body Double

The film opens with Jake Scully, a struggling actor, attempting to play a vampire in a low-budget horror film. His performance takes a downward turn when he loses control due to claustrophobia and messes up a crucial take, showcasing his deep-seated fears.

As Jake's performance falters, chaos ensues when a fire breaks out on the set. The director, Rubin, promptly sends Jake home, unwittingly triggering a series of unfortunate events in Jake's life.

Upon returning home, Jake is devastated to find his girlfriend in a compromising situation with another man, leading to a painful breakup. With no place to stay, he is left feeling abandoned and lost.

Desperate for purpose, Jake attends an acting workshop where he meets Sam, who offers him a house-sitting job at an opulent Hollywood Hills bachelor pad. This opportunity opens new doors for Jake, albeit in unexpected ways.

From the balcony of the bachelor pad, Jake becomes enchanted by his stunning neighbor, Gloria Revelle. He watches her perform mesmerizing erotic dances through his telescope, which deepens his intrigue and sets off a series of disturbing events.

Recognizing a potential danger, Jake decides to approach Gloria to warn her of a menacing stalker he believes is a threat. His confrontation with her leads to a mixed moment of intimacy before she abruptly pushes him away and leaves.

While at the beach, Jake witnesses a terrifying event when the menacing stalker snatches Gloria's purse. In a panic, he gives chase, but becomes paralyzed by fear in a tunnel, and ironically, it is Gloria who ultimately saves him from danger.

After settling in, Jake observes a horrifying scene through his telescope: the stalker brutally attacks and murders Gloria. This traumatic event raises profound questions about the nature of crime in the seemingly glamorous Hollywood Hills.

Determined to find answers, Jake infiltrates the adult film industry, seeking Holly Body, a performer whose routine he noticed on a 24-hour porn channel. His bold decision leads him into a world of sexual intrigue and danger.

Jake develops a complicated relationship with Holly as he tries to convince her of his real intentions. Their conversation reveals connections to the stalker, stoking Holly’s anger and leading her to storm off just before being taken by the very threat Jake feared.

In a shocking twist, Jake encounters the stalker at an open grave, leading to a brutal confrontation. He discovers that the stalker is, in fact, Sam in disguise, revealing a deeper malevolence behind his supposed friendship.

During the struggle, Jake learns that Sam’s plan was to frame him as a witness to Gloria's murder, exploiting their friendship for his own alibi. This revelation turns Jake’s world upside down as he realizes the betrayal he has faced.
