The mood in the staff room turns grave when the head teacher announces Gedo High as Seido's first opponent, a team feared for crushing rivals. Principal Kocho tries to steady nerves, but fear drains the room of optimism as the season opens.

Megane, known as Four Eyes, is cornered by expelled students while chasing a stray ball. Jubeh intervenes and defeats Bancho, a decisive first clash that earns Kocho's respect. He is invited to join the team but refuses, having vowed not to play again after a fateful accident.

Moved by Jubeh's intervention, Bancho decides to join Seido and help his injuries heal. The unlikely alliance marks the beginning of a renewed, more confident squad as teamwork takes root.

In quiet moments, Jubeh opens up about a pitching past so dangerous it nearly cost him his life. Four Eyes reveals his own stubborn love of the game and the way his mother’s baseball-hate fuels his perseverance.

The confessions soften Jubeh's resolve enough for him to join the Seido squad. The team begins to believe in a future built on courage, teamwork, and the gifts they can share.

The day of the Gedo game arrives, but Jubeh is nowhere to be found. Four Eyes searches for him, and by the time Jubeh returns, Seido has already endured a brutal pounding from their ruthless rivals.

An exploding decoy shocks the stadium as Jubeh’s life hangs in the balance. In a surreal moment, Jubeh’s father appears and urges him to embrace his gifts for the good of everyone. Bancho also meets his father and receives a special mitt that can halt Jubeh’s pitch if needed.

Back from the beyond, Jubeh returns to a rebuilt Seido squad, joining Kocho, a transformed Head Teacher, a cyborg Matsui Gorilla, an unlikely ally—one of the cheerleaders—and Four Eyes’ mother finally offering her blessing to play. The team begins anew with a plan to defeat Gedo.

The newly formed Seido squad pools its strengths for the monumental clash. They agree on a shared strategy to bring down Gedo once and for all, relying on teamwork and the renewed resolve of every player.

In a brutal climax, nearly everyone on the field is knocked unconscious except Jubeh and Gedo’s coach, who wields a poisoned-injecting bat. Four Eyes sacrifices himself to shield the others and interrupt the attack, allowing Jubeh to rise and strike back.

The coach is spared after Gedo's players plead for mercy, but a gunman opens fire, triggering a miraculous moment where the fallen briefly resurrect. Jubeh acts again, knocking the shooter’s weapon away and restoring order as the crowd erupts in relief and triumph. The narrator finally reveals himself to be the bleacher dog, a cryptic witness grounding the miracles in one odd voice.
