Ruth Anne 'Bone' Boatwright is born into a world of stigma as a child out of wedlock, casting a shadow over her early years. Growing up in Greenville, South Carolina, Bone grapples with complex family dynamics alongside her mother, Anney, as societal judgment weighs heavily on their lives.
