Twelve-year-old Pablo, affectionately known as Pellet, finds himself trapped in a harrowing existence dominated by his overbearing and tyrannical father. Life changes dramatically when he crosses paths with a new classmate, Alfredo, who becomes his ally and introduces him to a more nurturing and supportive family dynamic. This new world is embodied in Alfredo’s free-spirited, fun-loving father, Jose, who represents everything that Pablo longs for in a family.

After one fateful day, where they both get caught in a downpour following a delightful outing with Alfredo’s family, Pablo’s painful reality comes to the surface. While the rain cleanses the world around them, it also reveals the bruises and scars that mar Pablo’s body. In an attempt to shield himself, Pablo initially dismisses the visible marks, claiming he simply fell. However, Alfredo’s instincts tell him otherwise, and he bravely confides in his own parents about his friend’s grim situation.

In the wake of this revelation, Pablo inexplicably withdraws from school for a week, provoking growing concern within Alfredo’s family, who fear for his safety. The fear that grips Pablo is beyond comprehension; he feels suffocated by his father’s wrath, unable to reveal the truth about the beatings that torment him. In a heart-wrenching moment, Pablo realizes he can no longer remain silent. Gathering a reservoir of courage, he confronts his father but is met with brutality, suffering a severe beating that drives him to escape his home.

Seeking refuge, Pablo flees to the sanctuary of Alfredo’s home, where he finds solace and care. Alfredo’s parents, recognizing the severity of the situation, promptly take him to the hospital for treatment. They vow to protect him, ensuring that his father will not be able to reach him. However, as concerns about possible kidnapping charges arise, they feel compelled to contact Pablo’s father, stirring fear in Pablo’s heart.

Upon discovering their intentions, Pablo’s resolve hardens, and he realizes he must take action. In an act of defiance and determination, he finally speaks out, reaching out to social services and bravely revealing the abusive reality he has endured. Through this courageous act, Pablo takes his first steps towards freedom, slowly shedding the chains of his past and the pain that once held him captive.
