Guru fled to Mumbai because he foresaw a disturbing vision of himself stabbing Abhinaya in the stomach. Fearing that the prophecy might come true and hurt the woman he loved, he chose to distance himself from her to prevent the vision from becoming reality.

The psychiatrist earlier warned Guru that his ESP visions could materialize as prophecies, making his fear justified.

Prasad met Dhanalakshmi during his journey from Mumbai to Chennai. After arriving in Chennai as a carefree man driven by money, he encountered her and had a sexual encounter with her before continuing with his impersonation plans.

Prasad's arrival in Chennai was set up as a opportunistic move after leaving Mumbai.

Abhinaya mistook Prasad for Guru because they looked exactly identical. When Prasad arrived in Chennai, Abhinaya simply saw his face and, having no reason to doubt his identity, brought him into her home without realizing he was an impostor.

The film established earlier that Guru encountered his exact doppelganger in Mumbai.

Prasad decided to impersonate Guru after being mistaken for him by Abhinaya. Seeing an opportunity to marry into wealth as the son-in-law of the powerful businessman Anand Chelliah, Prasad schemed to take Guru's place and benefit from the family's riches.

Prasad was established as stylish, carefree, and driven by money.

Abhinaya was accidentally stabbed during a confrontation between Guru and Prasad in the climax. As they struggled for control, Guru attempted to kill Prasad but the knife slipped and struck Abhinaya in the stomach instead, fulfilling the prophecy Guru had feared.

Guru's earlier vision showed him stabbing Abhinaya in exactly the same location.

Prasad confessed at the hospital because he was overwhelmed by guilt when he heard Abhinaya declare her enduring love for the real Guru while thinking he was Guru. Her genuine love and rejection of the impostor broke through his conscience, prompting him to admit the truth.

Prasad had been emotionally conflicted throughout the impersonation.

Dhanalakshmi reappeared at the end of the movie claiming she was pregnant with twins. This revelation led her and Prasad to unite as a couple, providing a happy resolution for both pairs of lovers.

Dhanalakshmi and Prasad's earlier encounter in Chennai set up this subplot.

Guru's ESP visions drove much of the plot's tension and motivation. His vision of stabbing Abhinaya caused him to flee to Mumbai, which led to meeting his doppelganger and set the impersonation plot in motion. The psychiatrist's warning that visions could become prophecies added stakes to every premonition.

The psychiatrist confirmed the visions were Extra Sensory Perception that could materialize.

The impostor was revealed in two stages. First, Abhinaya rejected Prasad when she realized he was not the Guru she loved, even though she was still in the dark about the truth. Then, when Guru arrived at the hospital, the real truth came out, and Prasad finally admitted his deception.

Prasad's guilt had been building throughout the hospital scene.

Prasad reformed because witnessing Abhinaya's genuine love for Guru and the pain his deception caused finally broke through his self-serving nature. After confessing at the hospital, he offered heartfelt apologies and left as a changed man, ultimately uniting with Dhanalakshmi.

Prasad's guilt was visible when he heard Abhinaya's confession about loving the real Guru.
