Gurumoorthy, aka Guru, is an athlete and a business-management student, and Vijay brings the title role to life. He falls in love with Dhanalakshmi, Namitha, the daughter of a powerful business baron, and their romance quickly becomes a test of family approval. In a warm family moment, Guru’s mother, Geetha, watches over them, adding tenderness to the growing bond between the couple.

As their romance deepens, the two struggle to win their parents’ blessing, but a darker layer emerges when Guru begins to experience vivid, disturbing visions that blur the line between imagination and reality. A psychiatrist describes these episodes as Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) power, warning that the images may come true. In one foreboding scene, Guru foresees stabbing Abhinaya; Shriya Saran plays Abhinaya, and the thought shakes him to the core, prompting him to flee to Mumbai.

In Mumbai, Guru encounters a man who looks exactly like him, a discovery that reshapes his understanding of the premonitions. The double moves to Chennai, where the look-alike, Prasad, is stylish, carefree, and driven by money; Vijay embodies this duplicitous personality. Prasad meets Dhanalakshmi during the journey to Chennai, has a sexual encounter with her, and Abhinaya mistakes him for Guru, bringing him into her home.

Seizing the moment, Prasad decides to impersonate Guru and aims to win Abhinaya’s hand. The real Guru returns to reveal the truth, but his warnings are dismissed as the impostor outplays him at every turn. Meanwhile, Ashish Vidhyarthi as Anand Chelliah, Abhinaya’s father, watches closely as the web of deception tightens around the family.

The conflict escalates into a tense confrontation. Guru tries to stop Prasad, but chaos erupts, and Abhinaya is accidentally stabbed. Guru rushes to get her to the hospital, only for Prasad to knock him out and slip into Guru’s clothes so that Abhinaya believes she is face to face with the real Guru. At the hospital, Abhinaya articulates her enduring love for Guru, while Prasad, hearing this, is overwhelmed with guilt and finally admits that he is not Guru. Guru arrives, and Prasad leaves the scene a changed man, offering heartfelt apologies for his deceit.

Outside, a twist arrives with Dhanalakshmi reappearing, claiming she is pregnant with twins. Prasad and Dhanalakshmi unite, while Guru and Abinaya seal their future together with marriage, leaving the family’s saga on a note of reconciliation and new beginnings.
