Baburaj, Ratheesh, an IPS officer, marries Sreedevi and soon after suffers a terrible accident that turns their life upside down.
Sreedevi, Ambika, carries her husband to their quiet Kodaikanal estate to help him recover, hoping the change of scenery will aid his healing. There, she encounters Raghavan, Mohanlal, a steady Malayali driver who gradually becomes a trusted ally in taking care of Baburaj as he regains his strength.
Sreedevi’s life is far from peaceful, as her lecherous uncle Ravi, M G Soman, pesters her with unwanted advances, casting a shadow over the family’s fragile happiness.
As Baburaj recovers, Ayurveda and perseverance reveal a dark thread in the past. From a police diary, he learns that Raghavan is actually Lance Naik Antony Isaac, a man who once aided Babu during his Dehradun training and, in a brutal chapter of his past, murdered his wife after discovering her extramarital relationship. Antony Isaac is an escapee from custody, bearing a death sentence that hangs over his head. This revelation shakes the trust between the households and tightens the emotional gauge of every character involved.
Slowly, the truth deepens: Ashok, Suresh Gopi, is the one who betrayed Antony Isaac by engaging with his wife, tearing open old wounds and setting new flames of vengeance in motion. When Raghavan, through a chance reunion with Ashok, recalls Babu’s real identity, he races to Ashok’s house to confront him. Baburaj, torn between his duty and his friend’s dangerous rage, pleads for restraint, but the anger proves overwhelming. In the end, Raghavan takes a drastic step and surrenders after the deed is done, leaving the family to grapple with the consequences of revenge.
The film’s pulse lies in its music — the score by S P Venkatesh weaves through the narrative as a powerful, emotional current that elevates every scene. The meticulous art direction by Sabu Pravadas enhances the world on screen, giving the story a visual rhythm that matches its tonal shifts and dramatic turns. The combination of score, set design, and performances helps this film linger in the memory long after the final frame.

Sreedevi brought her injured husband Baburaj to their Kodaikanal estate hoping the quiet hill station environment would aid his recovery. The serene location provided a secluded setting suitable for healing after his life-threatening accident.
Raghavan is actually Lance Naik Antony Isaac, an escapee from police custody who was sentenced to death. He is hiding his true identity because he fled after murdering his wife upon discovering her extramarital affair. He worked as a driver at the Kodaikanal estate under the name Raghavan to avoid capture.
While recovering at the Kodaikanal estate, Baburaj was reviewing his police diary and learned that Raghavan was actually Lance Naik Antony Isaac. Babu recognized the name because Antony had helped him during his Dehradun training days, making the discovery particularly shocking.
Antony Isaac murdered his wife after discovering that she was unfaithful to him. The betrayal and humiliation of his wife's extramarital affair drove him to commit the crime, which resulted in his death sentence and subsequent escape from custody.
Ashok is the man who betrayed Antony Isaac by engaging in an affair with Antony's wife. This betrayal triggered Antony's violent reaction and subsequent murder of his wife. The revelation that Ashok was responsible for destroying Antony's marriage becomes the catalyst for the film's climax.
The timeline notes mention Ashok's betrayal earlier, hinting at this connection before the confrontation.
When Raghavan (Antony Isaac) accidentally reunites with Ashok and remembers Babu's real identity, he rushes to confront him at Baburaj and Sreedevi's house. The chance meeting with the man who destroyed his life reignited his desire for revenge, leading to the violent confrontation.
The earlier revelation of Ashok's betrayal sets up this confrontation as an inevitable reckoning.
After killing Ashok in revenge for betraying him with his wife, Antony chooses to surrender to the authorities. Having completed his act of vengeance, he accepts the consequences of his actions rather than continuing to flee. His surrender marks the end of his fugitive life and the violent cycle of revenge.
Baburaj and Antony Isaac knew each other during their Dehradun training days. Antony had helped Babu during this time, which explains why Babu recognized his name in the police diary. This past connection adds complexity to Babu's moral dilemma when he discovers Antony's true identity and violent past.
The police diary revelation connects their past, which was established through Antony's earlier help.
Sreedevi's uncle Ravi harasses her with unwanted sexual advances throughout her stay at the Kodaikanal estate. His lecherous behavior creates additional tension and danger for Sreedevi while she cares for her recovering husband, adding to the family's already fragile situation.
Baburaj's recovery is aided by the peaceful Kodaikanal environment, Ayurvedic treatments, and the dedicated care from his wife Sreedevi and caretaker Raghavan. He regains his strength faster than expected, though his recovery is marked by the shocking discovery of Raghavan's true identity.
The film ends with a morally ambiguous resolution. While Baburaj survives and continues recovering, Antony Isaac kills Ashok in revenge and then surrenders to face justice. The story reflects on themes of loyalty, betrayal, justice, and the devastating costs of revenge, leaving characters to grapple with the consequences of hidden identities and past crimes.
