Arjun Pandit

Pandit's men kidnap Nisha to celebrate her birthday, signaling his obsessive hold over her. Nisha makes it clear that she hates him and wants nothing to do with him. The kidnapping sets the film's dangerous mood in motion.

During Nisha's wedding, Pandit's men disrupt the ceremony and kidnap her again. A high-speed car chase ensues through the streets, ending with Nisha being released. The incident deepens the display of Pandit's power and reach.

Shiva is captured during the chase and arrested, and is shot in police custody. Before dying, he begins to reveal that Pandit is not who he seems to be and starts telling his backstory. This sets up the hidden history behind Arjun's rise to power.

The story shifts to Haridwar, where Arjun Dixit is portrayed as a gentle, God-loving professor. He lives a calm life teaching Sanskrit and helping others. This backstory establishes the contrast with the later crime figure Pandit.

Nisha arrives in Haridwar to study Sanskrit and captivates Arjun with her intellect. He falls in love with her, despite living a simple life and wanting to avoid conflict. The romance becomes the center of his early life.

Nisha challenges Arjun to prove his manliness by confronting Sanjay, the rogue son of a local MLA. Arjun publicly fights and defeats Sanjay, defending Nisha's honor. This victory triggers powerful enemies and sets the stage for tragedy.

Sanjay and his henchmen assault Arjun while he is with Nisha. Arjun fights back and kills Sanjay, but Nisha lies to the police about the shooting. Arjun is arrested, while the city reels from the violent confrontation.

Nisha testifies against Arjun and reveals she is the sister of Sangeeta Chopra, who was raped by Sanjay and who committed suicide because Arjun wouldn't testify. Arjun regrets his inaction and seeks to apologize to Sangeeta's memory.

Sanjay's mother denounces his acts and helps secure Arjun's release from prison for doing what was right. He then travels to Mumbai to meet Nisha and restart his life.

In Mumbai, at a concert, Arjun sees a man making vulgar remarks about Nisha and nearly beats him to death. The man is revealed to be Kaalia's brother, whose death provokes a feud with the powerful don Raman Kaalia.

Haldiraam orders Arjun to kill Kaalia before Kaalia kills him, mounting pressure to eliminate the rival. An initial shootout attempt fails, and the experience begins to turn Arjun into the ruthless gangster Pandit.

Shiva dies in police custody, and the police arrest Haldiraam on the basis of his statement but are forced to release him soon after. They decide to enlist Nisha's help to persuade Arjun to become an approver, but she declines.

Arjun meets Nisha and tells her their marriage is fixed again, prompting her to agree to meet him in person. She betrays him by stabbing him, but he survives, deepening the rift and the stakes of their relationship.

Pandit takes Nisha and her father to Siddharth, the man she was initially going to marry, and convinces them to proceed with the wedding. Nisha agrees to marry Pandit to protect her brother and reset their future.

Feeling purposeless without Nisha, Pandit resolves to renounce crime and move toward a life with her. A brutal assault by Haldiraam's henchmen and Kaalia leads to a climactic shootout at a railway yard, where Pandit defeats his enemies and uncovers Haldiraam's double-cross. Nisha declares her love, urges him to spare Haldiraam, and they unite, choosing a future free from crime.
