Ammu

Ammu marries Police Inspector Ravi and settles in Maharanipalli. They begin a seemingly happy life, with both spouses supporting each other and looking forward to their future. The new home also places Ammu in Ravi's world and social circle.

Ravi's behavior becomes harsh; he shouts and belittles Ammu in front of colleagues. The tipping point comes when he slaps Ammu during a visit from her parents. He apologizes but there is no real remorse, and the incident signals control rather than care.

Ammu confides in her mother Kalpana, who urges her to act according to what she feels is right. Ammu decides to stay quiet, hoping that love will soften Ravi's behavior. She endures the abuse, fearing humiliation and the stigma of separation.

Ammu uses contraceptive pills to avoid pregnancy, but she becomes pregnant. It is implied that Ravi secretly sabotages the pills to ensure a child, worsening her emotional torment. She wrestles with fear about raising a child in the abusive home.

Ammu reaches out to Satya, Iqbal, and Linny for support. They accompany her toward the office of DIG Reddy to file a formal complaint about Ravi's domestic violence. Before they can reach Reddy, Ravi spots Ammu and manipulates her into denying the abuse.

Despite the setback, Ammu insists she has not given up and will strike back at the right time. She wants Ravi to admit his abuse in front of others, so she can leave with pride. The plan remains to expose him when the moment is right.

Prabhu Das, released on parole to attend his sister Geetha's wedding, faces Ravi's harassment at the station. Prabhu's defiance leads to the cancellation of his parole. This incident prompts Ammu to consider more drastic steps.

To prevent Prabhu from missing meetings, Ammu, Satya, Linny, and Iqbal secretly hide him at Ammu's home. This creates chaos at the police station and threatens Ravi's career, resulting in his suspension.

Ammu formally goes to DIG Reddy and hands over a voice recording exposing Ravi's threats and admission of abuse. Ravi is arrested, and his career is in jeopardy.

Linny returns Prabhu to the station where Geetha forgives him for the past. Prabhu is imprisoned again after the parole turmoil.

They discuss Ammu's uncertain future and the possibility of abortion due to marital rape. Linny assures Ammu that she would not be a bad person for making the choice she believes is right.

The film closes without revealing Ammu's decision about the baby. Ammu returns home and shares a biryani with a beggar at the Maharanipalli bus station, reminding her that the choice is hers. The beggar offers the view that the decision, right or wrong, must be hers.
