In the year 2055, the Chicago-based company Time Safari introduces an unprecedented opportunity for wealthy clients to hunt dinosaurs using advanced time travel technology. This innovative venture comes with strict rules designed to ensure that clients do not alter the course of history by targeting only dinosaurs destined to die from natural causes.

Sonia Rand, the creator of the time machine software known as TAMI, expresses her deep concerns about the ethical implications of Time Safari's operations. Feeling undervalued, Rand worries that the clients' ignorance may lead to disastrous consequences for the timeline.

On a dinosaur hunting expedition, clients Eckels and Middleton join team leader Travis Ryer. However, the excitement quickly turns to panic when Ryer's weapon malfunctions during an encounter with an Allosaurus, forcing the group into a chaotic scramble for safety.

After successfully neutralizing the Allosaurus, Ryer and the clients return to the year 2055. Unbeknownst to them, one client has inadvertently strayed off the designated path, leading to unforeseen consequences upon their return.

In the wake of the expedition, strange shifts in global weather patterns begin to emerge. Ryer notices alarming changes in the plant life around Chicago, signifying the start of a reaction to the disturbances caused by their trip.

During their next hunting journey, Ryer and his new team discover that the Allosaurus they were supposed to hunt is already dead due to a volcanic eruption. The sudden anomaly leads the government to suspend Time Safari's operations for an investigation.

Ryer consults Rand and learns about the troubling phenomenon of 'time waves' affecting Chicago. These waves create bizarre alterations in the environment, leading to a catastrophic series of events as species begin to mutate unexpectedly.

Determined to fix the chaos caused by their earlier trip, Ryer and Rand strategize ways to intervene. They plan to travel back in time to lead the previous expedition back to safety, but their journey takes a chaotic turn when Ryer lands in a treacherous desert.

Ryer reunites with his original expedition team and provides urgent information about the deactivated bio-filter. His timely intervention prevents Middleton from stepping off the path again, ultimately resetting the timeline and averting disaster.
