During the late Ming dynasty, the imperial court faces rampant corruption that cripples the government. The incompetence of the emperor exacerbates the situation, leading to increased tension among various factions vying for power.

The Embroidered Uniform Guard, also known as jinyiwei, emerges as a secretive military branch established to serve the Ming government. Composed of orphans trained from childhood, they are skilled in ruthless, covert combat, embodying the dark side of imperial protection.

Qinglong, a commanding officer within the jinyiwei, is highlighted for his lethal weapon—a mechanical box that conceals 14 blades designed for his dangerous missions. His proficiency makes him a critical asset in navigating the treacherous political landscape.

Jia Jingzhong, an ambitious eunuch, weaves a plot with Prince Qing, the emperor's uncle, aiming to topple the regime. They manipulate Qinglong into retrieving a safe box from imperial councillor Zhao Shenyang, falsely claiming it contains treasonous evidence.

Qinglong discovers the retrieved box contains the Imperial Seal, crucial for legitimizing Prince Qing's claim to power. This revelation intensifies Qinglong's predicament as he grapples with his unwitting involvement in the conspiracy.

Betrayed by his own comrades, especially Xuanwu, Qinglong finds himself hunted and on the run. His former ally's treachery forces him to navigate the perilous streets in search of help and safety.

Tuo-Tuo, the fierce daughter of Prince Qing, arrives at a critical moment to assist Qinglong after he escapes from his pursuers. Their alliance marks a pivotal shift in Qinglong's journey towards confronting the corruption of the imperial court.

In his desperation, Qinglong turns to the beleaguered Justice Security Service, seeking refuge and passage out of the city. This unlikely partnership represents a strategic move in his struggle for survival against the jinyiwei operatives closing in.

Taking Qiao Hua hostage, Qinglong sets out towards Yanmen Pass to gather intel about his adversaries. As he learns of their plan to sell three provinces, he realizes the magnitude of the betrayal and the corruption he faces.

Qinglong forms an alliance with the Heaven's Eagles Gang, facing off against the Judge of the Desert, their formidable leader. Their battle reveals not only their abilities but also the potential for shared interests in challenging the corrupt forces.

In a well-coordinated raid at Yanmen Pass, Qinglong and the gang achieve a hard-fought victory over their enemies. However, the triumph is bittersweet as Xuanwu escapes with the Imperial Seal, swinging the fate back into the hands of the conspirators.

Tuo-Tuo kidnaps Qiao Hua, demanding the Imperial Seal for her release. This standoff underscores the tangled web of loyalty, betrayal, and ambition as Qinglong is forced to navigate through personal and political turmoil.

Qinglong engages in a tense and emotional duel against Tuo-Tuo in an abandoned temple. The confrontation signifies their conflicted loyalties and desires, and it is marked by both passionate resolve and tragic need for resolution.

The intense battle culminates in the tragic demise of both Qinglong and Tuo-Tuo, leaving the city shrouded in chaos. Their deaths symbolize the heavy toll of ambition and betrayal within the corrupt system of the Ming dynasty.

Following the chaos, the rebellion under Prince Qing collapses, culminating in his suicide. Meanwhile, Qiao Hua inherits the Justice Security Service and embarks on a journey through the desert, holding onto the hope that she may encounter Qinglong again.
