Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie

In a post-war interview, Adelheid von Schugel explains that the Empire went to war because other nations feared its power. She argues that deterrence and imperial pride shaped their foreign policy. The remarks hint at how propaganda frames the Empire's actions.

The 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion conducts a sortie in Africa against Free Republic forces and destroys their headquarters. The victory boosts morale and prompts Tanya to declare they will return to the Empire for rest and recovery. The operation also showcases the Empire's air superiority at that stage.

Upon returning to the Empire, Rerugen orders the 203rd into an immediate reconnaissance mission on the eastern border with the Russy Federation. The unit prepares for deployment and gathers intelligence on border capabilities. The tension hints at an expanding war front.

At the border, the 203rd observe Federation forces stockpiling heavy artillery materiel. They receive a message declaring war on the Empire. In response, Tanya and her unit proceed to destroy the entire enemy encampment, seizing the moment of weakness.

Tanya proposes a direct attack on Moscow, arguing that its AA defense is so weak that a Cessna could land in Red Square unmolested. HQ authorizes the plan, and the Empire enjoys air superiority as Federation mages are interned in camps.

Warrant Officer Mary Sioux enlists in the US Army to avenge her father. She arrives in Moscow with other multinational volunteers of the 42nd Flying Division for recruit training. The 42nd suffers casualties as a result of Tanya's earlier attack.

The 203rd uses the successful operation to record propaganda footage by singing the Imperial national anthem over Moscow. Loria, a Federation cabinet member, witnesses Tanya's singing and becomes infatuated with her.

Mary disobeys Drake's orders and takes off alone to engage the 203rd. The 42nd suffers heavy losses due to inexperience during the skirmish. Mary duels Tanya but is defeated and is later found gravely wounded in a crater, begging God for the power to kill Tanya.

The 203rd and Imperial soldiers celebrate their successes at Imperial East Border Temporary Camp 21. They receive a request to assist the 3rd and 22nd Divisions encircled at Tiegenhoff, and Tanya agrees, seeing the strategic value of controlling the railway hub.

The Federation launches a massive human-wave attack on Tiegenhoff, resulting in heavy casualties for both sides. The fighting continues into the next day with reinforcements arriving from the 42nd and a bomber flight. Mary spots Tanya and, in a fit of rage, disobeys orders again and attacks Tanya.

Mary incapacitates Tanya during their duel, and Tanya is grievously wounded but rescued by Drake. With the assault halted, Tanya realizes that her envisioned peaceful life is unlikely to materialize due to Being X's meddling.

Tanya convinces Strategic Headquarters to transfer to the rear for two months to study combined arms battle tactics. She visits a church and expresses elation at being removed from the frontline, while insulting Being X.

Two months later Zettour informs Tanya that she will be given control of the 8th Kampfgruppe 'Salamander', a combined arms unit comprising artillery, infantry, tanks in addition to her own 203rd, to investigate the efficacy of her research. The new assignment places her at the center of experimental warfare design. The purpose is to test how her tactical ideas perform in combined arms operations.
