Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

The story culminates with Kong and Godzilla uniting against their common enemy, the Skar king, who had been controlling a monstrous captive named Shimo with pain and fear. Kong’s journey into the Hollow earth reveals the existence of an ancient civilization and a hidden tribe, the Iwi, who are aware of a great evil awakening deep within the earth’s abyss. They call for help, guided by a prophecy that Jia, the young Iwi girl, is destined to awaken Mothra, the queen of monsters, to aid in the fight. When Kong ventures to the surface, the Skar king’s army, including the tortured Shimo, threatens the world. Initially, Godzilla attacks Kong, and they clash fiercely, but the arrival of Mothra, awakened by Jia’s insight, causes a shift. Recognizing their shared enemy, Godzilla and Kong put aside their differences and team up. Together, they battle the Skar king in a fierce fight. With Mothra’s aid and the disloyalty of his own army, the Skar king’s control over Shimo is broken, and the beast frees himself, freezing the Skar king to death. After defeating their enemy, Kong and his allies release the rest of the Skar king’s soldiers and return to the Hollow earth, with Kong reuniting with the little orange ape and the Iwi tribe. Meanwhile, Godzilla returns to sleep in the Colosseum, reaffirming his role as Earth’s protector. In the end, Jia chooses to stay with her tribe, knowing her home is wherever her mother goes, and Dr. Andrews and her team safely return to the surface, relieved that the world is safe once more. The film closes with a sense that the monsters have settled into their new roles, partners in the ongoing fight to protect Earth from future threats.
