Zombie Apocalypse

The film opens with the discovery of the VM2 virus in a French woman, marking the outbreak's origin. This moment establishes the threat that will spiral into a global pandemic. The scene sets the tone for the six-month flashback that frames the narrative.

Within 28 days, 83% of Europe's population is infected as the outbreak accelerates beyond France. Governments collapse under the rapid spread and fear grows. The continent starts to fall apart while containment efforts fail.

The virus becomes a worldwide pandemic, spreading beyond Europe to other regions, including Japan and the United States. Nations scramble to respond as infection rates soar. The world begins to witness a collapse of social order.

Six months after the outbreak begins, the zombie plague has wiped out 90% of the United States population. Civil order breaks down as survivors struggle to find shelter and supplies. The country is largely overrun, setting the stage for the present-day escapees.

In the present, Ramona, Billie, and Kevin descend from a cabin to scavenge a small town for food and news of others. They raid an auto repair garage, only to be swarmed by zombies. Kevin is bitten and begins turning, prompting Cassie to dispatch him.

The trio raids a surf shop for shoes and protective gear and trigger a horde when a fast zombie, a runner, attacks. Cassie kills the runner and the group escapes through the back. The encounter reinforces how dangerous the city has become.

That night the group finds temporary safety in a diner and shares a hesitant meal together. The moment provides a rare sense of camaraderie amid the collapse. They steel themselves for the next leg of their journey.

The group arrives at a supposed 'Human Safe Zone' inside a high school, only to discover corpses everywhere and no living people. As they search the gym, zombies flood in from multiple doors, trapping and scattering the group. Billie is bitten, and the others warn Ramona about the loss.

A bow-wielding archers team—Myrah, Brockton, and Sarah—arrive and help, and soon Mack, Julian, and Ramona are taken away. Henry and Cassie are separated from the others and decide to continue toward Catalina along the original plan. The new alliance complicates the escape but offers a lifeline.

While traveling, Julian is bitten by a zombie hiding inside a portable toilet. He offers to sacrifice himself as a distraction, but the group must restrain him as he turns. Mack is forced to kill Julian to prevent the group from being overwhelmed.

Henry and Cassie progress toward the ferry but encounter an abandoned army post. They use grenades to distract pursuing zombies, then push ahead. The explosion sends the horde toward the others and leaves Henry and Cassie trapped on a rooftop, where they eventually spot Mack's group and rejoin them.

The survivors reach the docks only to be attacked by two infected tigers. Brockton is killed and Henry is bitten; Cassie shoots Henry to prevent a painful turning. The group waits for a ferry with grim resolve, hoping for deliverance from beyond.

As the ferry approaches, Mack writes in Julian's diary to honor his fallen companion, and the horn sounds, offering a fragile note of hope amid the devastation. The survivors wait, uncertain of what comes next, but clinging to the possibility of rescue.
