A twisting, character-driven thriller unfolds as personal secrets ripple into a global threat. Nirupama, a nuclear oncologist, sits in therapy sessions wrestling with unhappiness in a marriage to her seemingly bland husband Vishwanath, a dance teacher who hides more than one facet of his identity. To ease her guilt over an ongoing relationship with her boss, Deepak, she hires a detective, Peter, to shadow Vishwanath and uncover any affair or hidden motive he might be concealing. This decision pulls Nirupama into a labyrinth of loyalty, deception, and danger that spans from Delhi to distant battlefields.

When Vishwanath invites his student Ashmita Subramaniam and his uncle Jagannath along with a trusted friend, the battlefield of their private lives collides with a larger, volatile plan. Vishwanath pretends innocence while silently confirming Nirupama’s affair with Deepak, setting up a night in which Nirupama helps Deepak stock money and a firearm in a dossier-filled office safe. The next day, a city-wide surveillance operation begins as Peter trails Vishwanath after a prayer at an Islamic worship place, revealing the longer shadow cast by Vishwanath’s hidden religion.

A fateful encounter at a trailer park shifts the investigation from the personal to the perilous. Farukh rises from the shadows after Vishwanath loses Peter, and the two soon cross paths with Omar Qureshi, a leading figure in a militant faction. Farukh reports back to Omar and Salim, who piece together the detective’s diary and learn Nirupama’s ties to Deepak. When Deepak is abducted to a warehouse, Nirupama and Vishwanath are pulled into a brutal confrontation. Farukh interrogates Vishwanath aggressively, and when Vishwanath refuses to cooperate, Deepak is killed. The moment of truth arrives as Omar realizes Vishwanath’s true identity and past allegiance, and Vishwanath seizes a chance to seize the upper hand.

What follows is a blistering crossfire between a seemingly ordinary couple and a global network. Vishwanath’s real name is [Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri], a formidable fighter who once trained alongside Omar and Salim in Afghanistan and who would become a jihadi under Omar’s leadership. The film traces Wisam’s ascent—from a village where he forms bonds with the local chief Nasser and Omar’s circle, to the brutal realities of war that strain families and futures. Wisam mentors soldiers, struggles to shield loved ones from the constant danger, and witnesses the devastating toll of American bombardments on villages. He watches young men, including Jalal, and Omar’s son [Nasser], navigate dreams of healing and growth while the theatre of war demands allegiance to a cause. The emotional core crystallizes when Wisam learns that even the families of soldiers are driven to the brink by perpetual conflict, and when American forces threaten Omar’s territory in search of hostages.

As the modern day unfolds, Nirupama, Ashmita, Jagannath, and Dawkins attempt to untangle the tangle of pasts and present threats. The FBI re-enters the picture as Captain Tom Black and his team close in on a warehouse where Cesium weapons are being hoarded. A flashback unveils a failed tracking device that should have led American forces to Omar’s village, a misstep that cost Imtiaz his life and left Wisam grappling with guilt. In the present, a tense interrogation probes Nirupama’s ties to the jihadis, but Jagannath vouches for Wisam to the Indian embassy, and Tom Black acknowledges the complex history at play.

The battle intensifies as a plan to weaponize cesium comes into focus. An elaborate sequence leads to the discovery of foreign cesium shipments and a web of betrayals that reach across continents. [Wisam] and Nirupama piece together the conspiracy, aided by the FBI’s use of microwaves to shield against detonation near sensitive targets. Omar and Salim push forward with their assault on New York, but Wisam’s cunning and the embassy’s support turn the tide. Dawkins uncovers files about the plan, while [Munavar] and Salim race to secure the bomb’s activation. In a climactic standoff, the cesium threat is contained, but not erased, and the true battle emerges: Wisam versus Omar, a personal war that Hale-style justice cannot easily resolve.

In a sweeping finale that threads back to Wisam’s earlier days, Nirupama realizes that the war is not simply against a foreign threat but a duel within Wisam’s own soul. The narrative brings the characters into a high-stakes confrontation that moves from a warehouse in the city to a decisive showdown in India, where past loyalties, present loyalties, and the fate of countless innocent lives hang in the balance. As the dust settles, the embassy hails Wisam’s work in Afghanistan, yet the closing truth remains stark: the war is between Wisam and Omar, and only one of them can survive to claim the future they have chosen to fight for.
