A 30-year-old balding Hindi lecturer, Chaman Kohli, [Sunny Singh] searches desperately for a suitable wife after his family astrologer warns that if he doesn’t marry before he turns 31, he’ll face a lifetime of celibacy. He confides in his friend, Himanshu Sharma, who also happens to be the college clerk, and is steered toward the idea that weddings are a fertile ground for meeting potential brides. At his friend’s wedding, Chaman tries to woo a girl, but is stunned to discover her making out with his brother. He then approaches his colleagues with the clerk’s guidance, only to be turned down because they’ve each got boyfriends.
Seeking a quick fix, Chaman tries to solve the problem with a wig, yet the bluff is soon exposed and he leaves in disgust. A first-year student, Aaina, Karishma Sharma comes to his aid, offering comfort after the taunts he’s endured, and she starts hanging out with him. She’s gentle and friendly, but her real motive seems to be obtaining the exam questions, a scheme that she hides behind her kindness. Goldie Kohli, his brother, Gagan Arora, spots the growing closeness between Aaina and Chaman and shares the family’s happiness, yet Aaina’s mood shifts and she becomes distant and refuses to talk.
Feeling isolated, Chaman ventures into online dating and encounters Apsara, a makeup artist, Maanvi Gagroo. The initial encounter is awkward: they clash over looks and the edited pictures they’ve posted, yet they agree to try being friends as a way to escape the awkwardness of the date. A fateful ride home ends in an accident, and in the hospital atmosphere, their families start to bond and assume they’re a couple. The families move forward with a Roka ceremony, much to Chaman’s frustration, but Apsara begins to develop real feelings for him. She even posts their picture on Facebook, which becomes the target of mocking comments from students, leaving Chaman distraught. Apsara tries to explain that people will always have something to say, and urges him to accept himself as he is rather than reacting to every judgment.
During their engagement, Chaman texts Apsara to say he’s unhappy with the union, and she in turn bears the blame, calling off the ceremony. The clerk notices the strain and invites Chaman to dinner at his home, where he introduces his mute wife and shows that happiness can exist beyond outward appearances. Later, Chaman rekindles a romance with a colleague who had once rejected him; she asks him to meet her parents while wearing the wig, a moment that becomes a turning point. It makes Chaman realize how Apsara valued him for his inner qualities rather than his looks. He apologizes to Apsara, and the film closes with the two of them seen living happily together.
