In the blazing heat of the summer in 1960, Richard Hudson made a significant move, leaving behind his familiar San Francisco roots to embrace the vibrant streets of Los Angeles. Armed with a wealth of experience as a savvy car dealer, he quickly established himself in the city. However, a feeling of profound creative restlessness soon emerged within him, prompting Richard to leave his car lot behind in pursuit of a new passion: filmmaking. His inaugural script, The Man Who Got Away, showcased his dedication, capturing the harrowing tale of a truck driver who spirals out of control, tragically running down an innocent child and ultimately facing a devastating demise as he confronts a squad of police officers in a hail of gunfire.

As Richard pursued his bold vision, an unexpected partnership blossomed with his father-in-law, Leo - a once-renowned film director whose career had dimmed much like the colors of his treasured Rouault painting featuring a clown. The duo took a leap of faith and pitched their unique project to The Man, the elusive head of Mammoth Pictures, who surprisingly gave the green light to the film. Yet, Richard’s steadfast dedication to his artistic integrity soon conflicted with The Man’s commercial priorities, creating a tension-filled battleground where their wills clashed.

Amidst the escalating pressures of production, Richard’s personal life also began to unravel in unexpected ways.
