My Chauffeur

Casey Meadows (Deborah Foreman), a spirited young woman, juggles her duties as a dishwasher in a high-end restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. Her life takes a surprising turn when she receives a hand-delivered job offer to become a driver for Brentwood Limousine Service. Initially, the company manager, Charles McBride, is taken aback by Casey’s youthful and audacious demeanor, doubting her fit in the all-male environment. To his dismay, he discovers that Mr. Witherspoon (E.G. Marshall), the company’s owner, specifically requested her. Despite his reservations, McBride hires her, warning that one misstep could cost her the job.

Facing rampant sexism and outright hostility from her older male colleagues, Casey’s resolve is tested. Yet, amidst the negativity, she finds solace and support from Jeremy O’Brien, a kind-hearted, older Irish driver who encourages her to persevere. With determination, Casey decides to weather the storm and stay in her job.

However, her challenges escalate as she’s regularly given unfavorable driving assignments designed to provoke a quick dismissal. Her first task involves transporting a debauched British punk rocker named “Cat Fight” (Leland Crooke) to his concert. Finding him in a haze of drugs and surrounded by backup dancers in a motel, she frantically revives him by dumping ice water over his bed. They embark on a chaotic ride where Cat Fight attempts to indulge in bizarre antics, yet she manages to deliver him just in time for the show.

Her next assignment involves Battle Witherspoon, a self-absorbed executive grappling with the fallout from a broken relationship. When Casey offers him a drink to soothe his heartache, their night spirals into wild turmoil, leading to a public spectacle as he bizarrely runs naked through a park. In the face of her kindness, he insults her the following morning, leaving her feeling dejected.

Unbeknownst to Casey, Battle is Mr. Witherspoon’s son, and when she’s tasked with driving him upstate to one of their company’s locations, their mismatched dynamic continues to unfold. A breakdown along the rural highway forces them to seek shelter, leading to unexpected intimacy when they spend a night together in a rustic cabin after a heated argument culminates in a passionate kiss and more. The morning after, Battle proposes, but Casey hesitates, fearing a return to his typical arrogance.

Later, Casey drives a Middle Eastern sheik named Abdul (Teller) only to be sidetracked by Bone, a charmer and con artist who enlists her to partake in a night of indulgence. As he tricks the sheik and recruits women for a night out, Casey’s patience is tested further. When the affair ends and she returns to the company, she is unexpectedly fired by McBride after authorities inquire about the missing sheik.

In a turn of events, Battle realizes his affection for Casey and begins to change his ways in hopes of winning her over. He invites her to meet his father, where Casey experiences a sense of déjà vu, remembering her childhood visits to the Witherspoon mansion due to her mother’s former employment there. An explosive revelation soon follows, when Mr. Witherspoon claims to be her biological father. But the truth twists further: Giles, another driver, reveals that he is her actual father, having kept silent so that Casey would inherit the Witherspoon fortune.

The film concludes with Casey and Battle’s wedding, and as they climb into the back of a Brentwood Limousine, they are driven by McBride, who finally faces the consequences of his sexist behavior towards Casey.
