The Witness

On a night shift, rookie cop Xiaoxing leaves her post to search for her rebellious brother. The pursuit spirals into a dangerous car scene as they fight inside the vehicle. A high-speed crash with a truck follows, killing her brother and leaving Xiaoxing blind.

The wreck seals Xiaoxing's sight, a brutal consequence of chasing her brother. In the aftermath, she must learn to live without her vision and comes to terms with the loss of her sibling. The tragedy hardens her resolve to seek justice.

Linchong is tailed by Tang Zhen on a motorcycle after the police delay a late-night check-in. He is knocked down by the killer's car and rushed to hospital with minor injuries. The near-miss foreshadows the danger closing in on Xiaoxing.

A few days later, Linchong spots a man tailing Xiaoxing as she boards a city bus. He urges her to film her surroundings so he can guide her to safety, and she manages to escape a fresh threat. Tragically, her guide dog Cong-Cong dies in the struggle.

Investigators link several missing women to a dating app called 'Let's Meet' and notice that male usernames match lines from a song. Linchong traces the account to Tang Zhen, a plastic surgeon. They learn Tang Zhen kidnapped women to remake them in his late sister's image after a family tragedy.

Xiaoxing reveals she is the elder sister of the late singer Linchong admires, deepening the personal stakes for stopping Tang Zhen. The revelation bonds the two, strengthening their resolve for the confrontation ahead.

Tang Zhen tracks Xiaoxing to her home and speaks of killing them both in a shared grief. Linchong arrives to subdue him while Xiaoxing starts a fire to create a distraction. The enemy pursues them outside as chaos spills into the yard.
