Millionaire businessman and thrill-seeker Thomas Crown is a charming, sophisticated athlete who thrives on adrenaline. Bored with his luxurious lifestyle, he devises an almost flawless crime, orchestrating a heist to steal $2.66 million from a Boston bank, which is equivalent to $17.8 million in 2023. To execute his plan, Crown employs four accomplices, ensuring that none of them meet him directly or even have any knowledge of each other’s identities prior to the crime. After the robbery, he cleverly retrieves the cash from a discreet drop-off point and deposits it into a numbered account in Geneva, traveling multiple times to prevent any suspicious behavior from being noticed.

In response to the heist, independent investigator Vicki Anderson is hired by the bank’s insurance company, promising her a substantial 10% of the stolen amount if she can recover it. As she examines the details, she hypothesizes that the mastermind behind the crime must be someone familiar with the bank’s operations, suspecting that the funds have been funneled to Switzerland. Upon reviewing a list of bank customers who have recently traveled to Geneva, Vicki spots Crown’s profile. Instinctively, she understands that he possesses the capabilities to execute such a meticulous crime and soon begins to unravel the method he employed to coordinate the robbery.

As Vicki and Crown’s paths cross more frequently, a palpable tension erupts between them, leading to a compelling game of pursuit. When she tries to introduce Erwin to Crown, there is no acknowledgment on either side, leaving the investigation at a standstill.

As Vicki inches closer to the truth, leveraging her connections with the Internal Revenue Service against Crown’s resources, he forces her to face her conflicting feelings.
