The Maze Runner

A boy awakens in a rusty elevator with no memory of his identity or how he arrived there. When he finally emerges, he is introduced to a group of boys living in a vast grassy area called The Glade, surrounded by towering stone walls.

Upon his arrival in The Glade, the boy meets Alby, the leader, who informs him that new boys are sent every month. Newt, Alby's second-in-command, suggests that the boy's name will soon return to him, hinting at a deeper connection to their situation.

Newt explains to the boy that the only way to escape is through the Maze, which is explored daily by Runners. The chilling fact is stated: no one has survived a night in the Maze, making it a dangerous place full of peril.

As the boy attempts to leave The Glade, he is stopped by Gally, who warns him about the dangers of the Maze. This interaction introduces the tension between Thomas and Gally, foreshadowing future conflicts.

During his struggles, the boy has a flash of memory and recalls his name: Thomas. This revelation is significant, marking the beginning of his journey toward self-discovery and understanding his role in the group.

A runner named Ben returns from the Maze after being attacked and stung by a Griever, posing a danger to the group. In a desperate measure, the other Gladers force Ben back into the Maze to protect themselves from his infection.

Minho, another Runner, goes back into the Maze with Alby to find Ben. However, Alby gets stung by a Griever and they struggle to make it back to The Glade as night falls, threatening their safety.

In a bold move, Thomas ventures into the Maze to assist Minho and Alby. Using his quick wits, he devises a plan to trap a Griever, ultimately ensuring their survival and defying the odds.

Despite Gally's objections, Newt promotes Thomas to the status of Runner for his bravery. Thomas, Minho, and others set out to explore deeper into the Maze, driven by the hope of finding an escape.

A girl named Teresa arrives in the elevator, startling the group. Strangely, she recognizes Thomas, though he does not remember her, bringing with her a note stating she is the last to be sent.

With the syringes Teresa brings, one is used on Alby to help him recover from his Griever sting. Alby begins to regain memories and reveals a crucial link to Thomas, questioning his role in their confinement.

Thomas and Teresa start sharing dreams that reveal shared memories from an underwater experiment they endured. They begin to uncover the truth about their past and the organization behind their situation.

One night, the maze's walls remain open and a horde of Grievers flood into The Glade. Chaos erupts as they attack the Gladers, further intensifying the fight for survival.

The Gladers find themselves in a facility where they watch a video revealing their role in an experiment conducted by WCKD. The video showcases the environmental collapse and their selection as subjects for a study.

In a desperate attempt to escape, Gally confronts the group. In a tragic turn, Chuck sacrifices himself to save Thomas. As they escape, they are whisked away by armed men, learning their test is far from over.
