Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

A young boy named Thomas is taken in by Ava Paige and her WCKD organization troops, along with other children, after his mother leaves him for his own safety. Years later, shortly after the remaining Gladers escape from The Maze, the now teenage Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and Teresa Agnes (Kaya Scodelario) — former employees of WCKD and architects of the Maze — reunite with friends Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Minho (Ki Hong Lee), Frypan (Dexter Darden), and Winston (Alexander Flores) at a facility managed by Mr. Janson (Aidan Gillen).
