The Lost Empire

Three masked figures murder the jewelry shop owner and try to pry loose the statue’s glowing red eye. A bloody confrontation erupts as police arrive, and all three intruders are killed while one officer is left badly wounded.

The next day, children are held hostage at a local elementary school. Inspector Angel Wolfe enters the room, confronts the terrorists, and kills all three attackers. In the chaos, she reveals that she is an LAPD inspector.

An intruder in the school room turns out to be Federal Agent Rick Stanton, Angel’s old friend. Angel knocks him down and realizes who he is. The two share the night together afterward.

The next morning, Angel learns that her brother Rob is in the hospital after the jewelry shop confrontation. Angel and Rick rush to his side, and Rob hands Angel a strange star-shaped object along with a cryptic message.

Rick recognizes the star and explains the legend of Lee Chuck, who gained immortality at the price of giving the devil a new soul every day. Angel absorbs the idea of a dangerous power linked to the Eye.

Angel visits the crime scene and, mourning Rob’s fate, watches the glowing red eye drop from the statue into her handbag. The tiny act deepens the mystery surrounding the Eye and its power. She senses a larger threat at work.

A mysterious Chinese man, Inspector Charles Chang, appears and explains the Eyes of Avatar—the Dragon-God’s power placed within both Eyes. He suggests that Lee Chuck is real and in possession of one Eye, while Dr Sin Do is tied to the cult behind the plot. The discussion sets up the broader conspiracy driving the events.

Chang ties Sin Do to the Eyes conspiracy and notes the cult leader’s ongoing influence. He reveals that Sin Do recruits women for his terrorist network through promises of wealth. The connection between Lee Chuck, the Eyes, and Sin Do becomes a central focus.

Angel learns that Rob has died from his injuries, a tragedy that drives her to act. Grief-stricken, she compels Rick to tell her more about Sin Do and his activities. The new urgency pushes them toward recruiting allies.

Angel travels to an Indian reservation to seek Whitestar, an old friend, and asks her to join the mission. Whitestar agrees to participate and joins the team.

The third recruit is Heather McClure, a criminal Angel promises parole to in exchange for help. Heather accepts and signs on.

The three recruits sign on and are flown by plane to Sin Do’s island fortress, Golgatha. This marks the group’s entry into the mission against the Eyes and Lee Chuck.
