The Last Days on Mars

In the 2040s, Tantalus Base, a Martian research facility, has been active for six months. The eight-member crew eagerly awaits the arrival of the Aurora spacecraft, which is set to transport them back to Earth in twenty hours.

Scientist Marko Petrović makes a groundbreaking discovery, uncovering evidence of life on Mars. Instead of sharing this significant finding with the crew, he opts to keep it a secret and plans a final Extravehicular Activity to gather more samples.

During the EVA, while collecting soil samples, Petrović encounters disaster as a sinkhole suddenly opens beneath him. The crew is left in shock as he disappears into the abyss, prompting a desperate search.

Captain Charles Brunel and Lauren Dalby gear up to rescue Petrović, but their mission quickly takes a turn when Dalby vanishes. The crew realizes they are facing an unpredictable and dangerous situation in the pit.

Petrović and Dalby mysteriously reappear at the outpost, transformed into aggressive creatures that bear no resemblance to their former selves. The crew watches in horror as Richard Harrington becomes a victim of these fast-moving zombies.

As the crew fights off the hordes of zombies, Captain Brunel sustains fatal injuries. In a shocking twist, he reanimates, revealing troubling symptoms like intense thirst and aggression that plague the infected.

In a last-ditch effort to control the situation, Robert Irwin isolates Kim Aldrich in the hydroponics lab with one of the zombies. The claustrophobic environment heightens tension as they try to strategize their next move.

Injured during chaos, Rebecca Lane and the remaining crew attempt to reach a second rover at the fissure site. With dwindling power, they must quickly devise a plan to escape the deadly zombies circling them.

As Campbell and Lane wait for dawn, Irwin manipulates the situation by claiming Lane is infected. He pressures Campbell to abandon her, triggering a moral dilemma that ends in tragedy as Lane takes her own life.

Campbell and Irwin reach the Aurora lander, only to be confronted by the reanimated Aldrich, who kills the crew onboard. The severity of the situation deepens as the stakes rise for the remaining survivors.

As Irwin becomes infected, he initiates a launch sequence that threatens both his and Campbell's lives. In a desperate act of survival, Campbell kills Irwin and ejects him into the vacuum of space, severing his own ties to the zombie outbreak.
