In 1968, at a military hospital, an infection begins to ripple through the facility as an operating team works on a patient. A medical student secretly pockets a strange vial hidden inside a thermos, hoping to study it later, but is fatally shot while trying to escape through the woods, dropping the mysterious container. The hospital staff scramble to contain the outbreak, enforcing strict consequences on anyone who had contact with the infected man. Outside the building, sharpshooters lay the explosive obstacles that would eventually seal off the hospital, and the ensuing chaos culminates in a dramatic, grim end as the explosives wipe out the lingering threat and the hospital is left quiet—at least for a time.

Thirty-seven years later, a group of patients at the same hospital—[Boris], [Jackie], [Isaac], [Sam], and their doctor, [Donwynn]—stumble upon a buried, peculiar thermos in the yard. The discovery kicks off a dangerous chain of events: [Sam] attempts to pry it open, while [Donwynn] urges caution and entrusts the container to Sam’s care. [Isaac] senses trouble from the moment the thermos appears, and [Jackie] quietly makes a bold move, slipping away with the strange object and retreating to the bathroom to try opening it. The moment the thermos is breached, something unseen is released, and a pathogen begins to seep into the group’s lives.

That night, the first signs of trouble surface. Donwynn receives uneasy updates, and the others begin to notice odd changes in themselves. The following day brings a sharper awareness: the group’s skin shows dead, peeling patches, and Emma discovers she is pregnant. One by one, more patients—including [Emma], who is now in labor—become part of the undead wave that sweeps through the hospital and eventually spills into the streets. The survivors retreat to the medical room, hoping to weather the storm, but the night turns even more brutal when the ranks of the undead swell and the living are forced to adapt quickly to a world gone feral.

In a harrowing finale, the living realize they are facing an endgame that overturns every assumption they held about safety and control. [Boris], [Jackie], and [Sam] confront the others in a bid to recruit them into a perverse, zombie-fueled “family.” The assault culminates in tragedy as [Boris] kills [Ava Flores], and [Isaac] makes a final, desperate decision, choosing suicide with the last pistol round rather than surrender to the infection. The film closes with the undead surge continuing to devour everything in their path, including a camera crew documenting the carnage, signaling that the nightmare has expanded beyond the hospital’s walls and into the world itself.
