The Hunt

A group of discontented individuals engages in a fiery digital conversation, expressing their frustrations about the state's leadership and the presidency. This passionate exchange ignites a desire among them to seek out those they label as 'deplorables.'

The narrative shifts to a luxurious private plane, where affluent passengers enjoy lavish comforts such as caviar and champagne. They eagerly await the arrival of their mysterious benefactor, Athena, played by Hilary Swank.

Suddenly, chaos erupts when a disoriented man stumbles into the cabin, leading to a disturbing struggle. In the ensuing chaos, a doctor takes lethal action, marking the plane as a grim site filled with lifeless bodies.

Fast forward, a woman portrayed by Emma Roberts awakens in a forlorn field with her mouth bound. As she navigates the landscape, she encounters Crystal, who frees herself and crafts a makeshift compass.

The two women stumble upon a group of gagged captives surrounding a massive crate. They discover a hidden trapdoor which allows them to escape their bindings, yet they are confused about how they ended up in this nightmarish situation.

As the group regains consciousness, a man breaks open the crate to unveil a pig and a trove of weaponry. Just as they arm themselves, they are suddenly fired upon by an unseen enemy, resulting in casualties and frenetic chaos.

Escaping the turmoil, a group discovers a makeshift gas station run by an elderly couple. In gruesome revelations, they learn of the death of one of their own, confirming the couple's true nature as elite hunters targeting conservatives.

Crystal unexpectedly enters the gas station and uncovers the couple's true intentions. With swift conviction, she dispatches them and narrowly evades a booby-trapped truck meant to obliterate her, realizing that they are not in Arkansas but Croatia.

Crystal next meets Gary, another escapee, on a passing train. Their journey becomes complicated when they clash with a group of refugees and soldiers, resulting in a heated dispute that escalates chaos when Gary recklessly detonates a grenade.

After being captured, Crystal endures disbelief from authorities in a Croatian detention center. Her situation changes dramatically when a U.S. embassy representative arrives but her queries take a dark turn, eventually leading to the representative's demise.

Following their harrowing rescue, Crystal discusses a twisted version of the tortoise and the hare tale with Don. They devise a plan to infiltrate the bunker where the elite liberal group awaits, setting the stage for their confrontation.

Crystal successfully storms into the bunker, executing a military-style ambush while leaving no survivors. The confrontation highlights her agility and determination against the elite hunters.

As Athena's voice crackles over the radio, Crystal faces a heart-wrenching decision that leads her to take Don's life. Believing he may be a hunter, she confronts Athena, resulting in a brutal altercation between the two women.

In the final moments of their intense battle, both women are left gravely injured. Crystal's memory of her mother's words, 'The hare always wins,' inspires her to survive, leading her to treat her own wounds and seize her victory.

Having regained her composure, Crystal claims one of Athena's elegant dresses and commandeers a flight back home. She indulges in the lavishness once more, sipping champagne and savoring caviar, a testament to her hard-earned victory.
