The House of Seven Corpses

Film director Eric Hartman decides to shoot his horror movie on location at the real Beal mansion, setting the stage for unsettling history. The decision anchors the narrative in a house infamous for family deaths.

During a scene, Gayle Dorian reads from The Book of the Dead and chants, prompting a sharp interruption from Edgar Price who claims the line is historically inaccurate. The moment reveals tensions between artistic license and superstition.

Edgar takes the cast and crew on a tour of the mansion, pointing out sites of past deaths and guiding them to the top-floor rooms where they will stay. The tour deepens the sense that the house itself holds a dangerous history.

Anne finds several occult books in a bedroom, hinting at hidden lore connected to the Beal family. The discovery ups the sense of danger surrounding the production.

Late at night, Anne sees Edgar climbing into a coffin in the graveyard behind the home and tells David she is frightened by the house. The sighting confirms suspicions that something otherworldly is at work.

Gayle's cat Cleon escapes from her room and leads her downstairs, where Christopher, in a drunken stupor, forces himself on her. Eric steps in to break up the assault.

Eric reveals that he filmed Edgar in the cemetery; Edgar denies killing the cat when confronted about the incident. The exchange deepens the suspicion surrounding the caretaker.

The next day, Gayle shrieks at the sight of her dead cat, and Eric grows suspicious that Edgar is responsible. He later finds a gun in a locked drawer in Edgar's living quarters and steals it, while Edgar again denies any wrongdoing.

Edgar returns to the cemetery to etch 'Cleon' on a headstone, continuing his ominous quiet defiance. The act reinforces the growing creepiness of his character.

On the last day of filming, David and Gayle chant from the Book of the Dead as Gayle's character resurrects her lover on screen. A zombie emerges from a grave in the cemetery and strangles Edgar.

After filming ends, the zombie travels to the Beal house and kills three crew members—Ron, Danny, and Tom—as they tear down equipment. Gayle stands witness as the undead intruder climbs the staircase.

Frantic, Gayle retrieves Edgar's gun from Eric's room and accidentally shoots Christopher dead, mistaking him for the zombie. The chaos escalates as Anne learns of the gunshot.

Anne goes to investigate after the gunshot and finds Gayle's corpse hanging from a rope, horrified and fainting. The tragedy marks a grim turn for the surviving cast.

In the cemetery, Eric and David discover Edgar's dead body and a grave marker reading 'David Beal: 1847–1896.' David reemerges as a zombie and Eric flees to the house, where he finds the corpses of Ron, Danny, Tom, Gayle, Christopher, and Anne. The zombie then hurls a film camera at Eric, killing him, and later carries Anne's corpse back to the cemetery, disappearing into the grave.
