The Fog

The narrative begins on the night before Antonio Bay's centennial celebration. A group of children gather around a campfire, where Mr. Machen tells a ghost story that alludes to the dark past of the town's formation, unbeknownst to them.

Father Malone discovers his grandfather's diary, which unveils a sinister mystery from 1880. The diary reveals that six town founders sank the Elizabeth Dane, stealing its gold and dooming the crew to death beneath the waves.

On the eve of the centennial celebration, a glowing fog envelops the town and sea. This mist carries the vengeful spirits of those wronged, marking the beginning of a horrific night.

Three local fishermen, Al Williams, Tommy Wallace, and Dick Baxter, fall victim to the supernatural fog. Their gruesome deaths occur when a ghostly ship appears beside theirs, leading to a terrifying encounter with malevolent spirits.

Nick Castle picks up a hitchhiker named Elizabeth, who is heading to Vancouver. As they drive through the eerie night, strange occurrences disrupt their journey, foreshadowing the terror that awaits.

The radio DJ, Stevie Wayne, receives a disturbing omen when the word 'DANE' on a plank begins to ooze water and combust. Shortly after, Blake's voice emerges from her tape player, vowing revenge on the town.

Nick and Elizabeth charter a boat to search for the missing fishing vessel, the Sea Grass. They discover the boat covered in blood and chaos, leading to the horrifying find of Dick Baxter's eyeless corpse.

While in the coroner's office, Elizabeth is left alone in the autopsy room with Dick Baxter’s body. The corpse suddenly becomes animated, scratching the number '3' into the floor before collapsing again, leaving everyone in shock.

During the celebration preparations, local weatherman Dan is lured outside by a knock at the door. When he answers, he is brutally killed by a ghost, and Stevie listens in horror through the phone.

Amidst the chaos, Stevie broadcasts a desperate message over the radio, warning residents about the impending danger of the fog. The supernatural phenomena escalate as the fog rolls towards her home.

When Stevie's babysitter answers the door to a strange knock, she is attacked by the ghosts that have emerged from the fog. Nick arrives just in time to save Stevie's son, Andy, from a horrifying fate.

As the situation worsens, Nick, Elizabeth, and Andy seek refuge in the church with Father Malone. They discover melted gold in the form of a cross, linking them to the town's cursed past as the fog closes in.

At the church, Blake's ghost and his crew launch an assault. Father Malone, driven by guilt, attempts to confront the apparitions using the golden cross, hoping to sacrifice himself for the others.

As the power of the golden cross peaks, the vengeful spirits are banished. The fog dissipates, and the townspeople are saved, relieved after enduring a night of horror.

After the town's near escape, Father Malone stays behind alone in the church. The fog mysteriously returns, leading to his tragic demise at the hands of Blake, sealing the fate of the town’s dark legacy.
