The Flesh and Blood Show

An anonymous producer assembles unemployed actors to perform The Flesh and Blood Show, and they travel to the Dome Theatre to start rehearsals. The Dome is a derelict venue on a seaside pier, which adds an eerie mood to the proceedings. The cast braces for a tense, secluded rehearsal period inside the deserted theater.

With hotels closed for the off-season, the group is forced to stay inside the theatre during rehearsals. They share cramped spaces and sketchy accommodations, relying on the theatre's limited facilities. The isolation heightens nerves as rumors and suspicions begin to circulate.

On the first night, Carol and Tony sleep together while Jane is paired with Angela. John witnesses Angela making advances toward Jane, stirring jealousy and suspicion among the group. The actors sense tension beneath the surface as rehearsals proceed.

Midnight brings a nightmare: Angela disappears and screams echo through the building. Mike discovers Angela's severed head in the basement, positioned beside a prop guillotine, yet he keeps the grisly discovery to himself. The group is left blind to the truth as fear spreads.

A gloved figure lingers around Angela's head, causing a chilling moment of unease. Mike summons the local police, but when they arrive they find only mannequin heads and no Angela, leading them to doubt Mike's story. The mystery deepens as nobody confirms what happened.

Julia Dawson arrives as a replacement and soon trains with the others. She tells Mike she feels déjà vu about the place, as if she has been there before. Mike then confesses that he found Angela's corpse the previous night, only for it to have vanished by morning.

After a quarrel with Tony, Carol goes for a walk along the pier and is confronted by a cloaked assailant wielding a butcher knife. Mike and Julia rush to her rescue after hearing her scream, and the threat flees when they intervene. Mike then realizes John is missing and suspects him might be the attacker.

Actress Sarah Hales is hired as Angela's replacement and joins the company. Her aunt, Mrs. Saunders, opens her home to the actors, offering meals and baths during rehearsals. The supportive arrangement contrasts with the growing darkness surrounding the production.

Major Bell visits to observe rehearsals, unsettling the actors with his calm presence. Mrs. Saunders and Bell recount the theatre's murky past, including stories of disappearances from World War II involving Harry Mulligan, Sir Arnold Gates, and his wife Pamela. The history fuels Julia's curiosity and spurs her to dig deeper.

During a costume retrieval, Carol is locked inside the basement as a prank. A figure with a flashlight approaches and reveals two skeletal remains before attacking her. She is found severely injured and dies in hospital.

Inspector Walsh begins investigating Angela's disappearance and the assault on Carol. Mike attributes Angela's fate to John, who he believes is still alive, but John's body is later found, bludgeoned and stabbed, complicating Mike's theory.

During a rehearsal, stage lights are manipulated, revealing Sarah's nude corpse in an upper wing. Mike forces the actors to hide in the dressing room as a voice recites lines from Othello. A shadowy figure steps forward: Major Bell.

A flashback reveals that Major Bell is actually Sir Arnold Gates. Gates attacked his wife Pamela and co-star Harry Mulligan after discovering their affair, binding and gagging them to starve in a locked room beneath the theatre. He departed with his young daughter, leaving the murders to haunt the building.

Inspector Walsh confronts Gates in the dressing room and takes him into custody. The tension of the night finally reaches a resolution as the murderer is stopped.

In the final revelation, Julia is revealed to be Gates's daughter, whom he abandoned after killing Pamela and Harry. The truth reframes the events and leaves a lasting sense of doom over the theatre.
