The Final Terror

Jim and Lori lose control of their motorbike and crash in the forest. Lori searches for help but returns to the scene to find Jim dead, hanging from a tree. She is then killed by a trap that ends her life.

A group of campers arrives at the forest and clears a campsite. They set up around a bonfire and introduce the diverse cast of characters. The mood shifts from curiosity to unease as the night grows darker.

The next morning, Marco and Eggar vanish from the group. The others begin a focused search of the surrounding area, worried that something dangerous is happening. Tension rises as the camp grows more paranoid.

While the others search, Mike and Melanie swim and later become intimate. A camouflaged killer ambushes Mike, killing him, and abducts Melanie. Fear spreads as the group's safety is proven fragile.

Nathaniel and Dennis discover an abandoned cabin with an old grave. Dennis's scream turns out to be a prank, but the cabin holds a severed wolf's head in a cabinet, chilling the duo. They retreat to the camp with shaken nerves.

That night, the killer appears near Margaret as she sleeps, prompting alarm among the campers. To everyone's surprise, Marco returns to the camp, adding to the confusion and fear. The group grows more suspicious of each other.

Vanessa heads to the outhouse and is horrified when Mike's severed head falls onto her, escalating panic. The group gathers to console Vanessa and process the shocking discovery. The threat feels personal and imminent.

The morning reveals that Melanie is still missing while the group searches the camp and cabins for the killer. They discover a hand in a glass jar as a grim clue and flee at first opportunity, grabbing rafts to escape the area. The danger has become more concrete and close at hand.

During the river journey, the killer artfully drops Melanie's body onto the raft, causing mass panic among the survivors. The group struggles to maintain control of the raft while dealing with the horror. Trust erodes as fear takes hold.

The group buries Melanie near the river and presses on to the end of the waterway, where they find a broken-down bus. That night, the killer attacks the bus and slips inside; the campers escape through the back door. Windy is separated and slashed, requiring immediate medical aid.

In the morning, the survivors gather supplies and camouflage themselves. They locate a toppled redwood tree and plan an ambush to trap Eggar. The group steels themselves for the impending confrontation.

Dennis climbs high and triggers a spiked log trap as Marco calls for Eggar. Eggar appears and tries to strangle Marco with a rope, escalating the danger and blurring lines between victim and suspect. The trap represents the forest turning from rumor into immediate menace.

The group attacks Eggar, but the real killer emerges from the roots: Eggar's missing feral mother. She slashes Dennis's ankle, and the confrontation results in her mortal wounding by the trap. The killer dies and Eggar's mother hangs dead in the trap, closing the brutal cycle.
