The Crow

The ending of “The Crow” (2024) sees Eric, after multiple deaths and resurrections, finally confronting Vincent Roeg, the antagonist responsible for Shelly’s death. Having been sent to limbo after his first death, Eric meets Kronos, a mysterious guide who explains the legend of the Crow—that those wronged at their moment of passing, whose souls can’t find peace, are guided by this spirit to seek justice. Initially refusing to believe, Eric is eventually resurrected after a series of violent encounters, including killing a corrupt cop and surviving a water fall, which reaffirms his newfound powers. Kronos reveals that Shelly is in hell and that Eric can save her if he kills Roeg, and he is granted a temporary return to the mortal realm.

During his second return, Eric investigates Roeg’s shady dealings, including his manipulation of memories and his pact with dark forces. He uncovers that Shelly’s past was corrupted by Roeg, who used his powers to make her kill someone, fueling Eric’s doubts. Despite his love for her, Eric’s resolve is tested, and he is ultimately killed again when his love is questioned. But this death allows him to return once more, making a final bold move to confront Roeg at his home. In a bloody climax, Eric kills Roeg and drags him to the limbo, where demonic creatures take Roeg to hell.

With Roeg gone, Shelly’s soul is freed and she returns from hell to reunite with Eric’s spirit. However, Eric’s deal with Kronos means he must remain in limbo while Shelly is alive again, and his sacrifice is profound—he bids her farewell, knowing their reunion will be brief. As Shelly walks back into her life, Eric lies in limbo, hopeful for a future reunion despite his pain and separation. His love and sacrifice are the true testament of his justice, leaving the story with a tragic but bittersweet note, as the spirits of love and revenge intertwine in his final moments.
