The Black Stallion

In 1946, young Alec Ramsey embarks on a steamer voyage along the rugged North African coast. This journey marks the beginning of an adventure that will change his life forever.

During the voyage, Alec encounters a mesmerizing wild black stallion named Shetan. He is captivated by the horse's beauty and tries to offer him sugar cubes, but their moment is interrupted by Shetan's owner.

Alec's father shares his recent card game winnings, gifting Alec a pocket knife and a statue of Bucephalus. He recounts the inspiring story of Alexander the Great taming a great horse, igniting Alec's imagination.

That evening, a fierce storm strikes the ship, causing chaos as flames engulf the vessel. In a moment of bravery, Alec risks his life to save Shetan, freeing him before they are thrown into the tumultuous sea.

Alec awakens on the shore of a deserted island, quickly realizing that Shetan is still bound. Determined to help, he uses his knife to free the stallion, beginning their extraordinary bond.

After freeing Shetan, a menacing cobra appears, but the courageous stallion swiftly dispatches it. Although Shetan initially flees into the wilderness, Alec remains undeterred and works to coax him closer.

Eventually, Alec and the stallion are spotted by a fishing ship, leading to their rescue. They are taken back to America, marking the end of their harrowing trials at sea.

Upon their return to America, Alec receives a jubilant hero's welcome, and he names the stallion The Black. The horse temporarily resides in his backyard, but excitement soon turns to chaos.

The tranquility is shattered when a garbage collector frightens The Black, causing him to bolt. Alec discovers the stallion hidden in the barn of retired jockey Henry Dailey, seeking safety.

Alec and Henry begin training The Black for the racetrack, with Henry teaching Alec the ropes of being a jockey. As they train, The Black showcases incredible speed, hinting at potential greatness.

With The Black's astonishing training results, Henry decides to prepare him for an upcoming match race. They organize a secret demonstration to generate buzz about the stallion's exceptional abilities.

As race day approaches, tension builds among Alec and Henry. Moments before entering the starting gate, The Black gets into a skirmish with another horse, injuring his leg unbeknownst to Alec.

Despite the injury, the race begins with Alec hanging onto The Black as they surge ahead. With determination, he spurs the horse onward, undeterred by the chaos around them.

In a heart-pounding finish, Alec and The Black close the gap between their competitors. Their hard work pays off as they achieve a stunning victory, marking the culmination of their journey and bond.
