The Adventures of Panda Warrior

In Imperial China, Jinbao learns about Merryland from his grandfather, who gives him a mysterious necklace. His Captain warns that the world will never be at peace, setting a tense backdrop for his future journey.

During an attack on their camp, Jinbao slides off a cliff and awakens in Merryland as a panda. He is rescued by Flying Pig, who introduces him to this strange new world.

Jinbao discovers that Merryland is ruled by an evil master and the Phantom Army. He also hears of the prophecy of the Panda Warrior who will help restore balance to the land.

The group traverses a forest where a giant spider attacks them. After surviving the danger, they befriend Mantis, who becomes their ally on the journey.

They reach a village of talking onions that is attacked by the Phantom Army led by Charcoal, a pyrokinetic tree spirit. Flying Pig suggests Charcoal insulted his grandfather, prompting Jinbao to subdue Charcoal in nearby water. The Ginseng Spirit arrives and plays the Song of Peace to purify Charcoal, who then joins the team.

The Ginseng Spirit tells Jinbao that he must rest to gather energy for the Song of Peace. With Charcoal purified and allied, the party continues their journey through Merryland.

The Phantom Army's general Cattle attacks as the group presses on. They are joined by Flying Pig's rebel allies Cotton Sheep Sister, Steel Mouth Chicken, Horse, Big-Eyed Monkey, Golden Retriever, and Big-Eared Rabbit. The alliance helps them drive Cattle off a cliff and push toward the rebel headquarters.

They reach the rebellion's headquarters and meet Lion King. He reveals that Jinbao is not the Panda Warrior and explains the history of Merryland guarding with Hope and Faith. Hope, after absorbing the Dragon Ball of Light, was possessed by an Earth-born Panda Warrior—the one who defeated Hope was Jinbao's grandfather. An evil rat then took control of Hope, turning her into a nine-headed monster.

Jinbao asks to be trained by Lion King. The training is painful and comical, but he passes and earns the right to fight for Merryland.

Jinbao and Charcoal visit Fox Elder to locate the Nine-Headed Snake's lair, where Princess Angelica is captive. They obtain a stone from the lair and a paper for emergencies, and Cotton Sheep Sister warns that other rebels have been captured. On their way, they are ambushed by a corrupted Flying Pig and knocked out.

At the Nine-Headed Snake's lair, the trio is attacked by corrupted rebels and brought before Cattle. It is revealed the rebels faked corruption to draw out the Phantom Army. The Ginseng Spirit returns and purifies Cattle, who then joins to help rescue Princess Angelica.

Inside the lair, Charcoal sacrifices himself to buy the team time. They learn that someone must be sacrificed to save everyone, a clue read by Big-Eyed Monkey. Mantis digs a hidden escape as the lair begins to collapse and the team escapes.

At dawn, the Nine-Headed Snake is weakest in daylight. The rebels regroup as Faith restores the land and purifies the Phantom Army, reviving Cattle and Charcoal. The rebels execute a coordinated strike on all heads and finally defeat the beast, with the rat fleeing.

What remains of the Nine-Headed Snake is restored to Hope as she re-joins Faith in the sky. Princess Angelica hands over the Dragon Ball of Light, and Hope and Faith vow to continue guarding Merryland.

During the credits, Jinbao is back on Earth, sparring with his Captain using the moves learned in Merryland and enjoying a drink. The sparring match ends in a draw.
