Daya, an orphan, grows up with a preconceived idea that a cop’s life would be buoyant and easy after witnessing corrupt acts, and he becomes a corrupt Sub-Inspector who is transferred to Visakhapatnam. There, he quickly falls in with a local don, Vasu, and starts earning quick money, which earns the ire of an honest constable under him, Narayana Murthy. In a reckless move on Gandhi Jayanti, he releases Vasu’s four younger brothers—Ravi, Mani, Vamsi and Sundeep—from prison, where they were held for smuggling, setting off a chain of events that blindsides everyone around him.
Elsewhere, Saanvi, a Blue Cross member, captures his attention and reciprocates his feelings, pulling Daya into a complicated mix of affection and ambition. As the relationship deepens, Vasu’s henchmen abduct Saanvi on her birthday, mistaking her for the target they were supposed to seize and harm. Daya fights them off to rescue her, and Vasu arrives to clear up the confusion, ultimately letting go of both Daya and Saanvi after offering apologies.
As a birthday gift, Saanvi pleads with Daya to protect the real target, and he rises to the challenge by rescuing Lakshmi, Lakshmi, much to Vasu’s frustration. Daya and Lakshmi build a fragile trust that compels Vasu to rethink his murderous plans; he agrees to withdraw his intent to harm Lakshmi if Daya can recover a crucial piece of evidence her enemies hold.
Daya learns that Lakshmi’s younger sister Deepthi was brutally raped and killed after forty days of torture by Vasu’s brothers, who kidnapped Deepthi on the same day Daya had released them unlawfully. The horrendous act was filmed and stored on a CD, which Lakshmi managed to uncover. Lakshmi entrusts Daya with the disc and asks him to bring the culprits to justice while arranging for her and her mother to leave for the USA, where Lakshmi had a job, to ensure their safety.
In a painful realization, Daya discovers that Lakshmi’s mother had previously solicited help to file a missing-person report for Deepthi days after the kidnapping, and he had told her that Deepthi eloped rather than facing the truth—an act of ignorance that he now regrets. He escorts Lakshmi and her mother to the airport, and their farewell conversation becomes a turning point, stirring a sense of responsibility for Deepthi’s murder.
Back at the station, Vasu’s men return to retrieve the disc, but Murthy’s humanity guides him to stand up for justice. Daya resolves to press ahead with accountability for the brothers, regardless of the personal cost. He confesses to Saanvi that he was an accomplice to the crime in the past, but Saanvi forgives him, recognizing his reform.
When Deepthi’s body is found on a beach, the nation is shaken, and the autopsy confirms the brutality of Deepthi’s torture. In court, Daya’s lawyer presents the disc as evidence, only for it to be revealed as tampered with, stripping the case of its sole proof against the brothers. Daya regrets not making copies of the evidence. Lakshmi’s mother, back in the United States, suffers a heart attack upon learning of Deepthi’s death.
Determined to seek justice by any means, Daya announces in court that he himself had assaulted Deepthi along with the four brothers, ensuring their death sentence even at the cost of his life. The judge hands down the death sentence to Daya and the brothers, shocking Saanvi and Murthy, who doubt the confession’s truth. However, Lakshmi reveals that she had an extra copy of the murder footage and shares it with the media, proving Daya’s innocence. With the true evidence in the public eye, the death sentence is canceled, and the four brothers erupt into a violent clash with the police just before their scheduled hanging.
In the end, Daya fights off the remaining threat, killing three of the brothers while the fourth commits suicide rather than face Daya’s wrath. Reinstated into the police force, Daya is released from prison and reconciles with both Saanvi and Murthy, signaling a hard-won redemption and a renewed commitment to justice.
