Tarzan’s New York Adventure

A cargo aircraft lands on Tarzan's African escarpment, searching for animals. The three men aboard trap lions and meet Tarzan, Jane, and their adopted son Boy. Buck Rand, the head of a US circus, realizes Boy could make a brilliant act.

Native tribes attack the group and set a large jungle fire. It seems Tarzan and Jane have perished in the flames, while the men take Boy aboard their plane and depart. Cheeta the chimpanzee manages to awaken Tarzan and Jane and informs them that Boy left with the men.

Cheeta awakens Tarzan and Jane before they are burned and tells them that Boy is aboard the aircraft with the men. Tarzan vows to recover Boy and begins tracking the plane through the jungle. The trio sets out on a perilous pursuit to retrieve Boy.

Tarzan, Jane, and Cheeta pursue Boy across the jungle and then fly across the Atlantic toward New York City. They eventually arrive in New York, where Tarzan is overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of civilization. He marvels at taxi cabs and other modern marvels as Jane explains their legal options to reclaim Boy.

Tarzan remains fascinated and puzzled by modern life, commenting on clothing, an opera singer on a radio, and the noisy box. He and Jane begin the legal effort to recover Boy, navigating New York's unfamiliar court system. The culture gap creates humor and tension as they pursue custody.

In court, a judge asks Tarzan what he would teach his adopted son as the most important lessons. The circus's unscrupulous lawyer manipulates Jane into admitting Boy was not born in the jungle, implying he is not her child. Tarzan's frustration rises as the conflict builds.

Tarzan attacks the lawyer in the courtroom, triggering a rooftop chase as police close in. He escapes through a window onto a ledge, then bolts across the rooftops. The pursuit pushes Tarzan toward a dramatic escape route.

To avoid arrest, Tarzan makes a spectacular 200-foot dive from the Brooklyn Bridge into the East River. The stunt is witnessed by bystanders as he disappears beneath the water. This daring escape clears the way to continue the search for Boy.

Tarzan locates the circus where Boy is being held and calls to the elephants, who have been chained to stakes. The elephants break their chains and attack the staff. Tarzan leads the freed elephants to tear through the circus and free Boy.

Bedlam erupts as the elephants rampage through the circus and chaos spills into the streets. Tarzan rescues Boy and escapes with him from the chaos. The reunion strengthens their bond and marks a turning point in their struggle.

In a New York courtroom, the judge grants Tarzan and Jane full legal custody of Boy. The ruling recognizes their jungle upbringing and parental rights, effectively legitimizing their family. With custody secured, the trio prepares to return home.

Tarzan, Jane, Boy, and Cheeta depart New York for Africa, returning to their jungle home. They reunite with the African landscape and resume life in the jungle with Boy. The adventure closes with the family safe and together in the wild.
