Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy

Narasimha Reddy is born in Uyyalawada to a chief and his two wives who are daughters of the Nizam's chief. From childhood he is said to be blessed by God and he displays athletic and acrobatic prowess. A teenage moment when he witnesses an execution deepens his resolve to resist British rule.

As he grows, Reddy trains in combat and philosophy under the sage Gosayi Venkanna. This mentorship helps mold his leadership style and fuels his future rebellion. The training equips him to rally others against the East India Company.

Twenty-five years later, Reddy gathers fallen chiefs and kings from different provinces to form a coordinated resistance in Renadu. He builds a fully operational movement against the British. Cochrane, governor of Madras, takes note of the growing power and sees a serious threat.

Cochrane dispatches General Jackson to enforce tax collection in Renadu and surrounding areas. Jackson's raids terrorize villages and test the resolve of Reddy's movement. The conflict escalates as Reddy prepares strong defenses.

Reddy saves the dancer Lakshmi from a stampede, foiling a sabotage attempt by Avuku Raju. The rescue forges a complicated bond between them and heightens Avuku's hostility. The situation is intensified by the looming shadow of Reddy's arranged marriage to Siddhamma.

Reddy feels drawn to Lakshmi but remains bound by an earlier betrothal to Siddhamma, tested by omens and a yagam ritual. Lakshmi, overwhelmed, contemplates suicide but is swayed to live by Reddy's plea. The personal loyalties intertwine with the political struggle.

Jackson raids and destroys villages that oppose him. Reddy retaliates by attacking Jackson's home, killing his soldiers and beheading him, sending the head to Cochrane as a stark message. The rebellion gains a brutal edge as word spreads of his defiance.

Lakshmi travels across the nation to promote the uprising, gathering support beyond Renadu. Tamil chief Raja Pandiyan joins the cause, enlarging the rebellion's coalition. The movement gains momentum as more rulers lend their backing.

Cochrane sends a large battalion led by Daniel to crush Renadu, but Reddy and civilians fortify a stronghold with traps and stalwart resistance. Avuku Raju reforms and helps fortify the defense, turning the siege into a proving ground for the rebels.

During the fort's defenses, Siddhama gives birth to Subbaya, and Reddy names him after a farmer friend who perishes. The fort becomes the cradle of the rebellion as the people stand united. The personal and political stories strengthen the resolve of the fighters.

Cochrane captures Lakshmi to force a path to Reddy. Facing overwhelming odds, she lights her clothes on fire, triggering an explosion that destroys invaders and sacrifices herself with many of Cochrane's men. The loss deepens the rebellion's resolve to resist.

In the climactic clash, Obanna is killed and Raja Pandi is gravely injured, yet Reddy saves him. Reddy defeats Cochrane in a sword duel; the rebels inflict heavy casualties, but the leader must retreat due to injuries. The struggle leaves a lasting legend of sacrifice and resistance.

Veera Reddy betrays the resistance out of anger over Reddy's actions and the British bounty on his head. Reddy is drugged by tea, captured, and condemned to exile after a public hearing. He survives the hanging, but a soldier decapitates him, and his body fatally wounds Cochrane; his head is displayed to suppress the rebellion, while Gosayi Venkanna and Avuku Raju are exiled.

Gosayi Venkanna, Avuku Raju, and other supporters are exiled from India. Ten years later, Rani Lakshmi Bai and her forces fight the British, continuing the spirit of Narasimha Reddy's rebellion and inspiring new generations of freedom fighters.
