Suryavamsam

In the village, Harischandra Prasad is the revered arbitrator who uses his influence to keep everyone living happily. He maintains a fierce rivalry with Singaraju Lingaraju, and the two stand as opposing pillars in the community.

Harischandra harbors a strong dislike for Bhanu because of his illiteracy and lack of traditional schooling. Bhanu, despite his flaws, remains a devoted son who endures hardship and tries to prove himself.

As a child, Bhanu is poor in studies and illiterate, which fuels his father's contempt. He falls in love with Madhavi, but their marriage is forced without her consent, and Madhavi attempts suicide to avoid an illiterate groom.

Swapna arrives for her brother's wedding to Bhanu's sister and initially assumes Bhanu is a servant. After learning the truth, she asks Bhanu's friend Nukaraju about his life and discovers the hardships Bhanu endured. Her regard for him grows as she understands his resilience.

Madhavi attempts suicide to avoid marrying Bhanu, an illiterate man. Bhanu publicly declares disinterest, which enrages Harischandra and strains the family ties further.

Swapna openly declares her love for Bhanu and consents to a marriage if he agrees. Bhanu crashes their wedding and marries Swapna, prompting Harischandra to banish Bhanu from the family home.

Bhanu and Swapna settle on the outskirts of the village, living in exile. There they encounter Madhavi again, and Bhanu resolves to reform himself and prove his worth.

Swapna teaches Bhanu reading, writing, and basic arithmetic, while pursuing her own studies toward an IAS career. Over time, Bhanu becomes a successful businessman and Swapna rises to District Collector, signaling a dramatic social ascent.

Harischandra Prasad and Swapna raise a fine young son, Junior Harischandra Prasad. The growing family brings fresh happiness as Harischandra begins to appreciate his grandson.

Madhavi asks Bhanu to allow her husband to work in Bhanu's factory, arguing that his business is failing without support. Bhanu agrees, showing compassion and a willingness to help.

Harischandra meets his grandson and secretly forms a warm, ongoing bond, visiting him regularly. The relationship softens the old man's heart and foreshadows reconciliation.

Bhanu gifts his son a canned payasam to be offered to his grandfather. Singaraju tampers with the drink, adding poison, leading to Harischandra's hospitalization and Bhanu's sudden suspicion.

At the hospital, Singaraju stages a scene to frame Bhanu as an attempted murderer. Harischandra detects the truth when the scent of Singaraju's perfume reveals the deceit, leading to a tense confrontation.

Singaraju confesses his guilt; Bhanu spares him, and Harischandra finally accepts Bhanu as his son. The family is reunited and the village celebrates their restored harmony.
