36-year-old Jyothika plays Vasanthi Thamizhselvan, a UD clerk in the Revenue Department who craves a change from her routine life. Her husband, Rahman as Tamizhselvan, works at All India Radio and dreams of emigrating to Ireland, but age and job barriers keep Vasanthi from joining him.
One day, IG Rajan, Nassar summons Vasanthi to his office and reveals that the President of India would like to have a conversation with her. The moment ends in disaster as she faints before the President and becomes the subject of Facebook memes. Before long, she watches helplessly as her husband and daughter Mithila Tamizhselvan, Amritha Anilkumar, fly away to Ireland.
Vasanthi’s old classmate Susan David, Abhirami as Susan David, now a successful CMO, reminds her of the bold, strong-willed woman she used to be and inspires her to rediscover her younger self—an empowered sense of self with big dreams and aspirations. Encouraged to aim higher, Vasanthi comes up with an idea sparked by a wedding catering order. She learns about the unhealthy market vegetables that are sprayed with toxic pesticides, and she refines her home greenhouse while rallying other women in her neighborhood to start their own greenhouses for the welfare of their families.
Susan helps her secure a slot at the region’s annual architectural conference, which is graced by the country’s bigwigs, and her talk on organic greenhouse farming concepts resonates with the audience. Despite initial resistance and a lack of support from her husband, Vasanthi pushes forward, turning her project into a success by fulfilling the wedding catering order and materializing her idea.
