Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection

The Earth flagship Blue Noah leads the First Emigration Fleet toward Amare when a fleet of unidentified ships opens fire. EDF forces counterattack but are quickly overwhelmed and Blue Noah sustains critical damage. Blue Noah's support ship captain Yuki Mori Kodai orders an emergency warp, but she vanishes mysteriously after the warp.

Thirty-eight-year-old Susumu Kodai, recently retired from EDF, arrives aboard the distressed Blue Noah with a boarding party. He uses precise timing to maneuver and destroys all three incoming enemy ships just as Blue Noah lurches toward safety. The rescue marks Kodai's return to active duty and sets up the search for Yuki's fate.

At the EDF headquarters, Commander Sanada informs Kodai of the approaching black hole and of Yuki Mori's disappearance during the battle. Sanada urges Kodai to command the Third Emigration Fleet, urging him to follow his wife's example of volunteering. The mission shifts toward Amare and a larger interstellar conflict.

Kodai returns home to be greeted by his daughter Miyuki, who blames him for his wife's loss. News arrives that the Second Emigration Fleet was destroyed by Beldel, Furide, and Ethos, leaving Earth facing four adversaries. Kodai accepts command of the Third Emigration Fleet to answer the crisis.

Commander Sanada reveals that the ship Yamato has been rebuilt on the Aquarius ice asteroid and is ready for service. Kodai accepts command as the fleet's leader, with the Yamato as flagship. The plan is to join the arks to reach Amare at extraordinary speed.

In a high-stakes meeting, SUS Admiral Metzlar deceives the other leaders by portraying Earth as an invader, while Ethos Admiral Gouri grows wary of manipulation. The debate reveals cracks in the Alliance and sets up a clash between perceived 'peace' and true honor. Gouri's misgivings foreshadow his eventual defection.

The Yamato enters front-line formation as the Third Emigration Fleet and Escort Fleet prepare their mission. The crew plans to slingshot around the small black hole BH199 to boost their speed toward Amare. Gouri watches the initial arc and signals caution as battle looms.

The battle erupts with the Yamato drawing the Furide into a duel while Escort Fleet combats the Beldel. Missile volleys are repelled with Shield Rockets, and heavy guns drive back furide assaults. Simultaneously, Ethos and Beldel forces clash with the Escorts as casualties mount.

Gouri witnesses the Yamato shielding an unarmed ark, a display of honor that conflicts with SUS orders. He contacts Kodai to reveal that he has been misled, and promises to protect honor over obedience. Barlsman threatens consequences if Gouri fails again, escalating tensions.

The Third Emigration Fleet and Escort Fleet arrive at Amare to cheers from survivors. A survivor reveals that Yuki's ship was found empty, handing Kodai a destroyed Captain's hat. The crew pieces together the truth about Yuki and the alliance's origins on Amare.

SUS airstrikes batter Amare City, killing many civilians as SUS armor tightens its grip. The Ethos fleet arrives to oppose SUS aggression, while Metzlar pressures Barlsman to escalate. Gouri questions the Alliance's use of force as civilians suffer.

Gouri informs Kodai of his intention to turn against SUS, and the Ethos fleet joins Earth-Amare forces in a fragile alliance against the SUS. The two former enemies exchange a respectful salute, signaling a new cooperation born from shared resolve.

The combined Earth-Amare fleet closes on the SUS fortress, which unleashes five neutron pillar guns. The Amare flagship shields Yamato while Shinano suffers heavy damage; the First Officer sacrifices himself by ramming to disable the fortress shield. With the shield down, the Yamato’s Wave Motion Gun destroys the pillars and the fortress sinks.

A massive SUS ship emerges and bombs the Yamato, but the Wave Motion Gun turns the artificial sun behind the vessel into a collapsing black hole. Metzlar reveals himself as an energy-being and vanishes, while the battlescape collapses around the remnants of SUS forces. The Yamato escapes to face a further threat — a rogue black hole set on Earth.

The Yamato returns to Earth and the energy-being Metzlar reappears to reveal the truth of the SUS ambitions. Kodai decides to strike, using the Wave Motion Gun to annihilate the SUS remnants and secure Earth. The ship ends its mission with Maho Orihara's death and Kodai reconciling with his daughter, securing a future for Earth.
