In 2220, Earth faces a rogue black hole that will annihilate the solar system. The Earth Federation plans to evacuate its population to the refuge planet Amare, but the S.U.S. Empire attacks the first convoy. Captain Susumu Kodai, whose wife Yuki Mori‑Kodai vanished in the battle, takes command of the rebuilt space battleship Yamato to defend humanity, rescue Yuki, and secure a new home, while his daughter Miyuki blames him for her mother’s loss.
