Colter Stevens awakens on a train, confused and disoriented. He discovers he is in the body of Sean Fentress, facing a woman named Christina Warren, yet he has no memory of her or how he got there.

Just eight minutes into the journey, a catastrophic explosion occurs, causing chaos and confusion among the passengers. This incident jolts Stevens back to a different reality, revealing the true nature of his situation.

Stevens finds himself trapped in a high-tech dome, communicating with Air Force Capt. Colleen Goodwin. She explains that he is on a mission to find the bomber responsible for the train explosion.

Goodwin introduces Stevens to the advanced program known as Source Code. He learns that he will relive the last eight minutes of a train passenger's life to gather information vital for preventing further chaos.

As Stevens navigates through the time loops, he grapples with fragmented memories of a mission in Afghanistan. These memories haunt him as he struggles to fulfill his new purpose.

While reliving the same moments, Stevens grows increasingly closer to Christina. He starts to understand the depth of human connections and feels compelled to protect her from the impending explosion.
