The film opens in a tense moment at the Kakkayam police camp, where a prisoner is harshly treated in front of the camera. The mood shifts to the retirement ceremony of three veteran officers—DYSP Abdul Sathar, IG Raghavan Nambiar, and ADGP Thomas Sebastian—only to take a darker turn when Sathar is murdered on his way home. This chilling start sets the stage for a layered investigation and a long-buried history that will surface in unexpected ways.

Holiday Home sits high in the Kerala hills, a picturesque resort that draws honeymooning couples seeking seclusion and romance. Its caretaker, Sankaranarayanan, and the resort’s quiet rhythms become the backdrop for a grim crime. Rahul Krishna Rahul Krishna arrives at the resort with his lover Meera Nambiar, and the next day the couple’s happiness is shattered when Meera is found murdered. The investigation is assigned to SP Siddharth Mahadev IPS SP Siddharth Mahadev IPS, who faces a chorus of conflicting stories from everyone connected to the case, each person offering a different version of what happened.

As the present unfolds, the film threads in a powerful flashback to the Emergency era in India, when Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency and the press was tightly controlled. Sankaranarayanan, a local press baron, and Antony Antony report through their newspapers the brutalities and rapes suffered by plantation workers at the hands of the local police. In a brutal chain of retaliation, the officers Nambiar Nambiar, Sathar, and Thomas Sebastian torture Sankaranarayanan, raping and killing his wife and daughter and then falsely implicating him in their murders. From this moment, the truth about power, violence, and revenge begins to emerge for Rahul, who learns that Sankaranarayanan is his father and that the family’s past is deeply entangled with the present.

Sankaranarayanan reveals another devastating secret to Rahul: Meera is the daughter of Nambiar, the same officer who preyed on Sankaranarayanan’s family. The revelation deepens Rahul’s internal conflict about how to respond to the past’s crimes. Despite his anger toward the men who wronged his family, Rahul cannot bring himself to condone killing Meera—whose own fate remains tied to the violence that shaped everyone’s lives. Meera herself becomes a pawn in a dangerous game of vengeance, ultimately escaping captivity with Rahul, only to slip on a stone and die in the escape attempt.

The pursuit of justice escalates as Sankaranarayanan and Rahul kill Nambiar and Sathar, and Siddarth ultimately captures Sankaranarayanan when he tries to attack him. In questioning Sankaranarayanan, the truth comes out: Rahul is the son of Sankaranarayanan, and the tangled web of loyalties and revenge continues to pull at everyone involved. ADGP Vincent Cherian orders Siddarth to arrest Rahul and to protect Thomas Sebastian at all costs, given that Thomas is a close relative of Cherian. The following day, a coordinated assault on Thomas Sebastian by Rahul’s cohort is thwarted by Siddarth and Aravind, resulting in the gang’s arrest. Yet the finale turns darker when Janaki, Sankaranarayanan’s wife who had survived the earlier assault, murders Thomas Sebastian and reveals herself as the Palmist who had been living in the shadows.

Across its twists and betrayals, the story remains driven by the tension between justice and revenge, the scars of a nation in crisis, and the personal revelations that redefine every character’s path. The lingering question—whether redemption is possible in a world shaped by coercion and cruelty—permeates the film, leaving viewers with a somber reflection on power, memory, and the cost of taking a stand.
