Sniper

Former Marine Sniper Thomas Beckett is visited by CIA officers Eckles and McKenna at his home. They brief him on a mission to assassinate renegade General Mile Valstoria, whose ethnic cleansing actions threaten to spark a regional war. Beckett agrees to participate but insists on having a skilled spotter along.

Beckett is introduced to Jake Cole, a seasoned U.S. Army sniper who is on death row for killing a federal officer. The offer of a pardon and a chance at redemption lures him into the operation. Cole accepts, hoping the mission will clear his name.

Beckett and Cole are dropped into Serbia and head to a Catholic basilica where they meet Sophia, an underground resistance member. She guides them to her apartment perched above the target area near a government building. The trio begins observing Valstoria's movements and formulating a plan.

The next morning, Beckett shoots General Valstoria, ending his threat but triggering a city lockdown. The operation appears successful, yet security forces quickly seal off the area. Beckett and Cole realize their extraction point has been compromised.

With extraction compromised, Beckett and Cole hijack a crowded tram to throw off pursuers. They ram it into police cars and escape into the city streets. In the chaos, Cole is captured by Serb forces and imprisoned while Beckett manages to flee.

That night, Beckett reunites with Sophia and hatches a rescue plan. With Sophia's brothers, Zoran and Vojislav, they intend to box in military trucks carrying Cole and another prisoner toward a prison, setting up a daring extraction. The plan relies on local knowledge and brute force to outmaneuver a heavily guarded route.

The group ambushes the convoy and frees Cole, along with Pavel, a pacifist dissident being held in a prison van. They shepherd the prisoners into a waiting vehicle supplied by Zoran and begin moving toward extraction. The successful ambush marks a turning point in their desperate escape.

During the tense journey toward extraction, Cole reveals that the Valstoria assassination was staged to capture him and enable Pavel's escape. Beckett begins to realize the mission is a high-stakes rescue operation rather than a straightforward hit. The revelation reshapes their understanding of who is orchestrating the mission.

That same night, the abandoned factory is attacked by a tank and infantry. Vojislav and Zoran are killed in the assault, and Beckett escapes with Sophia. Beckett orders Sophia to break off from the group to increase their odds of survival.

With the two brothers dead, the survivors push toward Komra, a Muslim town, hoping to link up with Nauzad who can help them cross the border. A river crossing and a sudden checkpoint force them to head toward Simand, the alternate extraction point. Cpt. Marks and his tracker begin closing in on their trail.

In the forest outside Simand, the trio is ambushed by a special forces unit. Pavel sustains a minor arm wound during the fight. Beckett and Cole manage to kill the entire team and push into town, trying to reach extraction while protecting Pavel.

The tracker holes up in a town factory and snipes at them. Beckett orders Cole to escort Pavel to the extraction zone while he confronts the tracker. Cole is severely wounded by the sniper, but Beckett eliminates the tracker and carries the wounded Cole toward the helicopter.

Beckett and Pavel load the wounded Cole into the helicopter, but Serb reinforcements arrive as they take off. Cole looks at Beckett and says 'Freedom!' before dying from his wounds. The helicopter escapes as the mission ends and the trio leaves Serbia.
