Small Fry

Bonnie visits Poultry Palace and receives a Zurg belt buckle instead of a Mini Buzz. She asks for a Mini Buzz Lightyear toy, but the cashier tells her they are out of stock and that the display items aren’t for sale. The display cabinet items remain unavailable, setting up the initial disappointment.

A Mini Buzz complains to a Mini Zurg that they will never be played with, highlighting their limited chances at attention. Mini Zurg stays put, not wanting to cause trouble with anyone at Poultry Palace. The two toys reveal the unease of being treated as display pieces rather than playthings.

After dinner, Bonnie plays in the ball pit with Rex and Buzz, while Mini Buzz secretly seizes the opportunity to escape the display cabinet. He climbs into the ball pit and pulls Buzz under the balls to take his place. Bonnie's mother packs the toys into her bag, unaware of the switch.

Mini Buzz convinces Rex that he is the real Buzz and that the other Buzz was shrunk by the ball pit plastic. Rex believes the impostor and treats him as the authentic Buzz. The deception goes unnoticed by the other toys at first.

When they return home, the other toys quickly realize that the Buzz in their midst is an imposter. Suspicion grows as the real Buzz remains missing. The situation prompts the group to investigate and react to the swap.

Buzz escapes and finds a storage room where a support group for abandoned fast-food toys is being held, led by a mermaid toy named Neptuna. The setting reveals a hidden world of discarded toys with their own dynamics. Buzz faces the reality of abandonment within the toy world.

During a reenactment therapy session, Buzz meets Gary Grappling Hook, a toy grappling hook who becomes part of the group. Buzz uses Gary to engineer an escape from the support group. The encounter marks a turning point in Buzz's understanding of his situation.

Back at Bonnie's house, the other toys demand Mini Buzz reveal Buzz's whereabouts and then begin devising a plan to break into Poultry Palace to rescue him. The group coheres around a common goal and starts coordinating efforts. Tensions rise as the plan takes shape.

Buzz finds his way home and confronts Mini Buzz about his deception. The confrontation forces the imposter to reckon with his actions. The dynamics among the toys shift as truth comes to light.

Mini Buzz opens up to the other toys at the support group, and Buzz accompanies him as his sponsor. The two begin forging a fragile friendship built on accountability and support. The group begins to see Mini Buzz in a more nuanced light.

In the post-credits scene, back at Poultry Palace, Mini Zurg is left with only the electronic belt buckle as his companion, a small but satisfying turn for him. He seems content with this simple source of companionship. The moment hints at a new, gentler path for the lone toy.
