Ridhima, a Delhi-based pharma executive, arrives at a remote village in Andhra Pradesh to meet a professor about a new drug patent. The professor leaves a note asking her to wait for his return due to urgent work. Madhav Rao, a junior advocate supervising the patent sale, also arrives, setting the stage for the unfolding dynamics.

Ridhima is an unmarried woman with a boyfriend named Sanjay, while Madhav is a discontented, depressed married man whose wife Sudha taunts him. Their meeting at the professor’s resort reveals personal tensions that will influence their later actions.

Over time, Ridhima and Madhav form a friendship as they wait for the professor. Their conversations reveal Madhav’s past acting attempts and his current role as a junior advocate, deepening their bond.

To pass the waiting period, Ridhima offers ₹30,000 to anyone who can entertain her for an hour. Madhav stages a psycho act to entertain her, a prank that unsettles her but also reveals his unfinished acting ambitions and vulnerability.

Madhav suggests turning their time together into a play about a husband and wife heading toward divorce. Ridhima agrees to participate simply to kill time until the professor returns, opening a new layer to their improvised bond.

The play is halted when Ridhima shows little interest, hurting Madhav. She apologises, and he responds with a lavish lunch featuring her favorite dishes, a gesture aimed at rebuilding trust and encouraging participation.

Ridhima admits she cannot act at first, but Madhav nudges her to gain confidence and they resume the same play, now taking on the roles of Sandhya and Subba Rao as their relationship drama unfolds.

During the performance, Madhav is unsettled by lines echoing his wife Sudha's words, causing frustration. He begins to detach from the illusion as the drama bleeds into real emotion.

In a heated moment of the play, Sandhya confesses she loves Sanjay and questions their future together. Madhav is struck by the implications and asks about his son Shambu, and Sandhya replies that they should both die in a well, pushing the scene toward violence.

Madhav lashes out verbally and then confesses his love for Sandhya and reveals how he has compromised his life for her. Ridhima realizes the drama is not merely pretend and understands his intense feelings.

Madhav attempts to kill himself, prompting Ridhima to clap and halt the performance. He regains his senses, apologizes, and the pair share a relieved, laughing moment as the boundary between stage and reality blurs.

The professor finally arrives, bringing closure to the improvised drama. Ridhima and Madhav reflect with renewed understanding, and the film ends with the professor resuming control of the patent deal.
