The film opens by introducing five central characters living in the bustling city of Mumbai, each facing their unique struggles. The diverse stories of Tilak, Mandook, Ramesh, Abhay, and Sawan start to intertwine in this vibrant urban setting.

Tilak, a small-time publisher, along with Mandook and Ramesh, kidnaps a famous author to obtain his latest manuscript. They aim to be the first to publish the book, showcasing their criminal scheming. This event marks their entry into the underground world of piracy and illegal activities in Mumbai.

Tilak enters into a hurried marriage with Sapna, which is portrayed as awkward and rushed. The marriage remains unconsummated initially, and Tilak is hesitant to go home, preferring to spend time with his friends. This highlights Tilak’s internal conflict and his emotional distance.

Gradually, Tilak gains the courage to get closer to Sapna, encouraged by her open gestures. Their relationship begins to improve as Tilak becomes more emotionally involved. The couple’s evolving dynamic reflects Tilak’s personal growth amidst chaos.

Tilak ensures the quality of his pirated books by making the printer redo a print run that missed pages, demonstrating his dedication to business despite illegal means. This act emphasizes his stubbornness to deliver the best product and his rising stakes in piracy.

Mandook and Ramesh steal a bag from a local train containing guns and bombs, then contact politician Tipu Bhaiya to find a buyer. Their illicit dealings set the stage for further violence and danger in their criminal enterprise.

Abhay, an NRI returning to India, struggles with the informal, chaotic workings of Indian society. He encounters a street vendor, gets involved with the local mafia, and becomes wary of their threats. His initial suspicions about mafia motives gradually turn into direct conflict.

The mafia begins stalking and harassing Abhay and Shamili, leading him to seek police protection. When the mafia kills his guard and pressures him for money, Abhay reluctantly pays them off, illustrating the threats faced by outsiders in Mumbai's underworld.

Sawan, a young cricketer, seeks to join Mumbai’s under-22 team but faces a Rs 10 lakh bribe demand. Unable to secure loans or support, he decides to rob a bank with the help of Tipu Bhaiya, illustrating his desperation and the high stakes for his ambitions.

Tilak and friends test a bomb on the outskirts of Mumbai, but it explodes prematurely, injuring a boy severely. Tilak is deeply affected by the incident, feeling responsible for the injury, which shifts his perspective on life and violence.

Tipu Bhaiya's involvement leads to a bank robbery plan that goes awry. Mandook accidentally fires, hurting Tilak, and causing chaos. Sawan enters the bank to steal the money while Tilak is injured, with the robbery collapsing amidst confusion and betrayal.

Though injured, Tilak manages to escape, while Sawan steals the money and leaves the scene. This moment marks their survival and highlights their resilience despite the violence and chaos of their criminal endeavors.

Towards the end, Sawan chooses not to pay the bribe to the cricket selector, opting instead to pursue honest work. This signifies his desire for self-actualization and a break from the cycle of crime and corruption.

The film concludes with all characters moving forward on different paths—Tilak and Sapna, Sawan, Abhay, and Mandook—highlighting themes of hope, change, and survival amid Mumbai's chaos. Their journeys reflect the complex interplay of chance, hope, and despair.
