Shor in the City

In the teeming streets of Mumbai, a city that never sleeps and never stops buzzing with colour, the rhythm of daily life is a chaotic mix of celebration and survival. The air is thick with the scent of street food, the echo of devotional chants, and the constant hum of traffic that carries both hope and desperation. Everywhere, strangers intersect, fortunes are made in moments, and the city’s vibrant festivals provide a fleeting sense of unity against an ever‑present undercurrent of danger.

At the heart of this restless world is Tilak, a resourceful small‑time publisher whose livelihood hinges on the gray market of printed works. Recently bound in an arranged marriage to Sapna, he wrestles with the awkward intimacy of a new relationship while trying to keep his modest enterprise afloat. His closest confidants, Mandook and Ramesh, are fellow hustlers who share his penchant for quick schemes, and together they navigate the precarious line between ambition and impulse. Meanwhile, Abhay, an NRI returning home to launch a business, feels both dazzled and unsettled by the informal rhythms of the city, finding an unexpected connection with the charismatic Shalmili he meets one night.

The film also follows Sawan, a young cricketer whose dreams of a spot on the under‑22 team are constantly tested by pressures that extend far beyond the pitch. Hovering in the periphery is Tipu Bhaiya, a local political figure whose presence hints at the tangled web of power that links ordinary citizens to larger forces.
