Motorcyclist Takeshi Hongo is kidnapped by SHOCKER, a deceptive organization that aims to transform humans into brainwashed animal hybrids known as Augments. This initial event sets the stage for Hongo's journey of transformation and rebellion against SHOCKER.

During his captivity, Hongo is transformed into Grasshopper-Aug 01, gaining augmented abilities. However, before he can be brainwashed and controlled, he is rescued by Ruriko Midorikawa, enabling him to retain his will.

SHOCKER's agent, Spider-Aug, is dispatched to reclaim Hongo and Ruriko. After a tense confrontation, Hongo utilizes his newfound powers and saves Ruriko, showcasing his determination to fight back.

Hongo and Ruriko take shelter with her father, Dr. Hiroshi Midorikawa. He reveals that Hongo has the potential to be their greatest weapon against SHOCKER, explaining the source of his superhuman strength: the life source prana.

Hongo and Ruriko's safety is shattered when Spider-Aug discovers their location, leading to a violent encounter. In the chaos, Dr. Midorikawa is killed, setting Hongo on a path of vengeance and leading to Ruriko's growing distrust of him.

In the wake of his father's death, Hongo vows to use his powers for good and renounces his identity as Grasshopper-Aug. He embraces the mantle of Kamen Rider, symbolizing his commitment to fight against SHOCKER's tyranny.

Two unnamed government agents approach Hongo and Ruriko, persuading them to join forces against SHOCKER. In return for their cooperation, the agents promise valuable intelligence regarding SHOCKER's activities and plans.

Ruriko unmasks the history of SHOCKER as a secret society created by a billionaire, whose tragic suicide left the organization in the hands of a misguided artificial intelligence. This revelation adds depth to the conflict Hongo and Ruriko face.

Hongo and Ruriko confront several Augs, including Ruriko's friend Hiromi, who had been transformed into Wasp-Aug. Despite their efforts, Wasp-Aug is tragically killed, showcasing the painful cost of their battle against SHOCKER.

Ruriko's brother Ichiro is revived as the formidable Butterfly-Aug just as Ruriko attempts to help him. Overcome by rage against humanity for their mother's death, Ichiro begins to wreak havoc by sending souls to the grim Habitat Realm.

Hongo faces Hayato Ichimonji, who is also transformed into Grasshopper-Aug 02. After a fierce battle, Hongo is injured, but Ruriko's intervention frees Ichimonji from SHOCKER's influence, uniting them in their fight.

In a devastating turn, Ruriko is killed by the K.K.-Aug, escalating Hongo and Ichimonji's resolve to defeat SHOCKER. Her death leaves a lasting impact on their mission, filling them with sorrow and determination.

Hongo and Ichimonji finally confront Ichiro, who transforms into Kamen Rider No.0. Despite their combined strength, Ichiro proves to be a formidable adversary, challenging everything they hold dear.

In a climactic showdown, Hongo and Ichiro finally reach a moment of reconciliation and confront their shared pain. Their confrontation leads to both of their deaths, leaving behind legacies of hope and resistance.

After Hongo's death, the government agents honor his wishes by passing Hongo's helmet to Ichimonji. This act symbolizes the continuation of Hongo's fight against SHOCKER, as Ichimonji steps into the role of Kamen Rider No. 2+1, ready to carry forward their shared mission.
