Sharknado 5: Global Swarming

Fin and April travel to London with their young son Gil to attend a NATO meeting about the escalating sharknado threat. They hope to coordinate a global response and keep Gil safe as the danger grows.

Nova and her assistants investigate a temple hidden beneath Stonehenge and stumble upon a shrine devoted to an ancient shark god. They recover an artifact that, once activated, triggers a new, dimensional sharknado that threatens the world.

The dimensional sharknado heads toward London, and Fin rallies Buckingham Palace guards to defend the city. The battle ends with the city surviving, but Gil is pulled into the storm and vanishes.

Fin, April, and Nova realize Gil is still alive and track him using a signal from his helmet. They board an airship built by Dr. Angel and pursue him to Switzerland, where the ship is caught in a sharknado and crashes, killing Dr. Angel. The group salvages skis and continues the chase down the Alps.

The crash sends them to Sydney, where April's cybernetic body is badly damaged. Nova introduces the Sharknado Sisterhood and reveals Fin's cousin Gemini is a member who has been overseeing a ship carrying nuclear waste. Fin is angry that Nova kept Gemini's role secret as he and the upgraded April vow to pursue Gil.

A sharknado strikes Gemini's ship and absorbs the nuclear waste, mutating into a shark-shaped mass. The upgraded creature heads toward Japan.

Fin and April arrive in Rio de Janeiro and meet another Sisterhood member at an old church. They learn ancient myths explaining the sharknados and the vortex, including the idea that the Earth has many portals.

An art thief steals the artifact during the meeting, triggering a car chase that ends in the Colosseum in Rome when a sharknado teleports the vehicles. Fin and April recover the artifact just as they are summoned by the Pope to aid in the mission.

The Pope in Vatican City provides Fin with a special chainsaw and urges him to continue the mission to save Gil and the world. Using the artifact, Fin and April summon a sharknado to recover Gil, but he slips away and the three are pulled into the vortex.

Fin and April emerge in Tokyo to face Sharkzilla, a massive mass of sharks. Gil is trapped inside the creature, and Nova arrives with the remaining Sisterhood to fight. After a brutal battle, the creature explodes, Gil vanishes, and Nova dies.

Fin learns that his family has died after a call from Matt, who is killed by a sharknado at the Kansas farm. Grieving, Fin and April decide to try returning the artifact to Stonehenge to halt the outbreak.

The summoned sharknado transports them to the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, where hieroglyphs reveal the vortex's deeper history. An ancient mechanism appears to open the pyramids and absorb the vortex energy.

The mechanism reverses and energy erupts from the Earth's core, triggering a global sharknado that consumes the planet. Gemini is killed in Tokyo as the storm expands. Fin and April cannot stop the device, and April absorbs the entire planetary vortex to save the world, sacrificing herself as her body explodes.

Fin collects April's head and wanders the ruined planet, while a truck emerges from a bright light driven by an aged Gil. He reveals that after Sharkzilla's explosion he traveled back in time and spent years developing a way to use the sharknado as a time machine.

Reunited, Fin and Gil set off into the past to defeat the sharknados once and for all and save their family and friends. They plan to alter the timeline to prevent the disasters from escalating, determined to restore what was lost.
