The brainy Nancy leads a destitute paranormal debunking team to the Kyser mansion to take a job that could fund their next meals. They discuss their money troubles and their shaky credibility after a disastrous prior investigation. The drive to the property foreshadows the danger they are about to face.

Officer Lance recounts the property's dark history: the Kysers ran a church and school on the grounds, and rumors of Satanic rituals and human sacrifice swirl around the place. He explains why the land became a target for developers and warns them to stay alert. He offers his contact information and adds a flirtatious note toward Nancy.

On the grounds the team uncovers a twig pentagram, which Lance dismisses as a childish prank but still signals trouble. The find raises tensions as the group debates whether to push forward or retreat into their cars. The uneasy mood intensifies as the night deepens.

Chad experiences what he believes is a psychic vision of the Kysers and their alleged rites, though the moment yields little concrete evidence. The team struggles to interpret what they’re seeing while the danger lingers. The suspense climbs as belief clashes with skepticism.

Floyd manipulates the monitoring gear and then confesses to spiking the drinking water with LSD to hide his own stash from Officer Lance. His revelation sparks anger and mistrust among the teammates. The night spirals from debunking into a fight for their lives.
