Dark Ride

Sam, a tough and competitive teen, and her twin Colleen sneak into the Dark Ride, with Sam teasing Colleen about her fear. The killer seizes Sam and slices her stomach, leaving her in a brutal state inside the Dark Ride. The violence marks the first grisly act of the killer within the attraction. Sam's fate is sealed as the chaos of the ride erupts around her.

The killer proceeds to brutally kill Colleen, brutalizing the twin sisters’ fateful night. The Dark Ride becomes a crime scene as the two sisters fall victim to the unseen assailant. Their deaths haunt the park for years to come.

Ten years later, Cathy and Liz prepare for spring break and plan a road trip with three male friends: Bill, Steve, and Jim. They pick up a hitchhiker named Jen and discuss a detour to the Dark Ride after Bill finds a pamphlet about its reopening. The group agrees to spend the night at the amusement park.

Unbeknownst to the group, the killer Jonah escapes from a mental hospital after killing two orderlies. This sudden escape foreshadows the danger looming over their planned detour. The ominous escape sets the stage for the night they will never forget.

Jim switches on the power, illuminating the ride and launching its theatrical effects. The group settles in and relaxes, while Bill recounts the old killings to validate the park's dangerous rumors. The atmosphere grows tense as they settle in for the loop.

Jen and Steve wander into the hallway to fool around. Jen spots Cathy's fake corpse with a throat slashed in a chair, triggering panic and a sharp argument between Cathy and Steve. Bill steps in to break up the fight, but Steve storms off.

The power goes out, plunging the ride into darkness. Jim goes to the basement to fix the outage, and Jen follows him down, initiating a sexual encounter as danger looms nearby. The blackout hides the killer's movements as things go still darker.

Jonah slides through a hidden entrance on the floor and decapitates Jen with a swift strike. Jim, meanwhile, suffers a head injury after colliding with a pipe and passes out. The group's hope for escape grows dim as danger closes in.

Liz, Cathy, and Bill move through the ride in a desperate search for a way out and stumble upon Steve's mutilated body. The grisly discovery sends them into a panic, and they decide to split up to cover more ground.

A policeman arrives to help Cathy, but Jonah slashes his head in half with a machete. The brutal waste of a protector heightens the sense of peril for everyone still inside. Cathy seizes a chance to escape to safety.

Cathy jumps out of an opening and makes it into Jim's van. Jonah attacks Jim with a hook, but Cathy drives the van into the building, impaling Jonah on a wall of spikes and killing him, then collapses from exhaustion. Her escape seems within reach as danger finally appears to be ending.

Bill appears and reveals that he and Jonah are brothers, then stabs Jim. The betrayal confirms the dark interconnections behind the park's brutal events and seals Jim's fate. The truth leaves Cathy reeling as chaos swirls around them.

Cathy runs out of the Dark Ride and hears sirens approaching, collapsing to her knees in relief and exhaustion. The ending cuts to Bill, who is shown wearing Jonah's mask, hinting at a broader conspiracy and a lingering threat. The audience is left with a chilling suggestion that the horror may continue.
