Chad Michael Collins as Jason leads a small group of traveling college students to Ivanovo, a remote Eastern European village, after their bus breaks down. Their arrival sets off a chilling chain of events when Jason pulls a sword from a stone, unintentionally waking a giant creature whose body is made of rock. The monster begins a brutal killing spree, healing itself and slipping into the landscape—blending with mountain crags and stone hills so it becomes almost invisible to the untrained eye.
Daniel Hembling as Warren disappears in the woods, wounded and alone, and is eventually snatched by the creature. Jason learns a dark family legend: an ancestor, Knight Jakivar Lazar, once defeated a similar rock-born threat using the same sword, while Elas’s spirit had been imprisoned beneath the earth eight centuries earlier. This history gives the group a glimmer of hope but also heavy responsibility.
When Jason tries to contact help at Cassandra’s father’s office, the line is cut by criminal gypsies. A dangerous detour leads them to witness the gypsies killed and left on the road as the Rock Monster reemerges and advances. The travelers barely escape as a car explodes behind them. Back in the village, an angry crowd rallies around the danger, and Toni steps forward to defend Jason, apologizing for the trouble he caused. In a pivotal town hall moment, Jon Polito as The Colonel delivers a stirring speech that galvanizes the villagers to stand up to the beast, explaining that Jason’s sword is a potent weapon capable of ending the monster’s reign when wielded with courage.
Jason chooses to stay and fight, inspired by Toni’s confession that she truly cares for him. He vows not to abandon Cassandra, and the trio—Jason, Cassandra, and Toni—prepares for a grueling confrontation. The monster feeds on victims’ blood, growing stronger with each kill, while Dimitar uses dark magic from Elas’s spellbooks to amplify the threat. Benny, played by Michael Flemming, falls victim to the creature, a brutal reminder of what is at stake. In a tense moment on the main road, Toni distracts the monster with a bomb launcher, giving Jason a chance to strike the creature’s ankle; the blow causes the stone behemoth to crumble, fracturing into pieces.
That victory is bittersweet. The village celebrates Jason’s triumph at the pub, and he shares a kiss with Cassandra, then confesses his love and asks the mayor for Cassandra’s hand in marriage. Dimitar’s ominous shadow lingers, and he ambushes Jason at Sophie’s cottage, intent on eliminating the threat once and for all. Toni and Johan, the farm boy, intervene to save him, and Dimitar is knocked unconscious.
Dimitar’s arrest scene reveals a deeper conspiracy: he taunts Jason from a jail cell, claiming that to truly conquer the monster, a red jewel keystone is required and that the soul of the beast could be transferred into him. Dimitar’s claim unsettles the village, and the new mayor pledges peace, provoking Cassandra to see Dimitar’s true intentions. In a cruel twist, Cassandra is kidnapped and left bound in the woods, forcing Jason to confront the growing danger.
The monster answers Dimitar’s summons and descends on the village to witness the soul transfer. In a dramatic sequence, Jason retrieves the sword once more and defeats Dimitar in combat. The creature proves difficult to kill with ordinary force, so Jason remembers a painting of his ancestor impaling the ground and replicates the same act in reality, opening a fissure that swallows the monster—and Dimitar—into its depths, sending both to Hell.
With Dimitar vanquished and the monster defeated, Jason and Cassandra leave the village together, while Toni chooses to stay behind with Johan, who had proposed to her earlier and won her blessing. The Colonel notes that the village has exhausted their shells and lacks an army to defend itself, emphasizing the need to find allies in other settlements. A fragile peace forms as the new mayor makes a cautious deal with the remaining danger, even as Cassandra resists the idea of surrender. In a final twist, Dimitar’s machinations echo as the monster’s call seems to linger, but Jason’s fate hangs on the fragile balance between vengeance and a hopeful future.
